post-op ques.

i know im only a week out but the pain on the left side of my tummy stops me in my tracks its a sharp shotting pain did any one else have this problem too?

Christina, When I was 4 days out I had horrific pain but once my drain was taken out it went away. Others get severe pain from gas....esp if u had a Lap procedure. They blow your tummy up with gas to see what they are doing...and sometimes it gets trapped.. Moving helps...u have to walk that one off. I hope this helps.

The pain on my left side was mostly gas. I used the Gas-X dissolve strips and they helped. Water and walking also help. Congrats on your surgery!! Sam

Do you still have your drain? Mine irritated my muscle wall so badly that the on-call doc (Caccuci) had us pull it out at home. It was excruciating and as soon as it came out it was an immediate relief. Otherwise, I did have a lot of soreness for about a week and a half, but no sharp pains on the left side for the most part. Definitely call your doc if it persists.... AND CONGRATULATIONS!!!
