First consult yesterday.

Hello all! I had my first consult with Dr. Caccuci yesterday and have changed my mind on what surgery I was wanting. I went in thinking Lapband and now I'm going with the RNY. I'm in the first stages of getting insurance approval, doctors letters, psych eval, etc. Anyone here have experience with St. Vincents or Dr. Caccuci?

I loved St. Vincents! Their bariatric floor is wonderful. Not too hip for their ICU or regular floor, but the bariatric is Dr. Caccuci did a few of my endo's. She also gets a big from me! I had Dr. Gupta and am very happy with her. I think he, Dr. C and Dr. Jones are all terrific surgeons! Congrats on starting your journey! Sherri

Congrats on the first step. I went through St. V's and had Dr. Gupta. Loved her and the experience has been great so far. I also thought I wanted the lap band, but ended up deciding on the RNY. I am 16 days psot-op. Good luck on a speedy approval process! Belle

Devan- Were you there for the 4:30 consult? I was too! I too was thinking Lap band but based on what she said- I now think Roux is the best way to go. I too am in the process of gathering docs records, getting Psych eval. etc. I chose Caccuci primarily because of the comments made on this sight and the other part on gut feel- no pun intended. It will be fun to go through the process together...last one to surgery buys the other one a protein shake! Shellye
