Surgery date...
The doctors office called today and gave me a surgery date of April 18th. Now it's hurry up and wait. I have been to two meetings (own my own) of support groups that turned out to be very interesting. I am having the duodenal switch and Dr. Inman will be my surgeon. I have a couple of questions. I have to go to a pre-op class and also have some medical clearance testing done. Does anyone know what these two things consist of?
Mike,
I have on my profile on a post from the last week of june a detailed listing of what I did in class and the day of testing. I had mine done on two days back to back at St Vincents in Carmel....if thats where u are going u can read all about it on my profile.
Congratulation on getting a date. I know its a very exciting time!!!
Congratulations, on your date. You are sure having to wait a good while. Is that because it's DS? I had Dr. Inman for RNY, and the preop class and preop testing were no big deal. The worst part of the preop testing was the barium drink for the upper GI. It tried to come right back up at them! I was really glad to do all the preop testing, because they found out my gall bladder was full of stones, and got it out of there during my surgery, before I started having problems.

Congratulations on getting your date for surgery. Dr. Inman was my surgeon also. She is top notch in my book. I was grateful for the pre-op testing that was done. It had been a long time since I had such a thorough evaluation and I was glad that I was completely cleared for surgery. The pre-op class is a lot of information but very informative and they will also give you a booklet with everything written down. The time before your surgery will go by before you know it. Karen
