Hey everyone! Darrah's baby shower was great! Thank you everyone for pitching in and pulling together to make this a very memorable event for Darrah. Every mommy needs this at least once! And everyone needs to know they have friends they can depend on...and you all did not let her down! If you didn't attend (or were a male ) and wanted to send Chris & Darrah something (gift certificates for Target or Wal-Mart would be great!), contact me and I'll send you their home address. I live on the NE side but work close to where Chris & Darrah live (S/SW). If you would like to drop off something at my house, I could drop it off to them at lunchtime or after work. Thank you to all those who helped to decorate...a special thanks to Brenda whose mastery with the helium tank inflated 36 balloons! Thank you for those who stayed and helped with the clean up. A special thanks to Linda Kay...who vacuumed up all those darn little pieces of paper! Angie, it was wonderful collaborating with you on this! I have pictures on my picture trail (http://www.picturetrail.com/sweetsherri61) and a few on my profile here. BTW...check your 'friends' requests! I tried to ID who was in the pics using that feature but some of you haven't accepted me as your friend yet Oh...like my new avatar? Sherri PS....Next event: Hmmmm...I'm thinking a hot tub party the end of February...??? I'm also having a 'silent' Pampered Chef' party and thought I could combine the two. Whatcha think? PSS...Next Clothing Exchange: April ___, in Indianapolis. Hostess: JoMac Miss Jodi

The pictures came out great! It was well worth the drive down. I enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting some new ones. Sherri, you and Angie did a great job decorating and the baskets you made Sherri were awesome! I think Darrah really enjoyed it. That new little girl will be stepping out in style! This is such a great group. I am glad to be part of it. Karen

ohhh wish i could have came, the place looked awesome... You all looked great too, And Darrah was glowing. thanks for posting the photos. so glad it went well and she got alot of stuff she will be needing and how bout all that pink... just cant wait to see that little baby all dressed in pink.. baby girls are sooo much fun. I had to take the grandkids shopping, they came to stay with us with hardly no clothes and none of them brought a toy... This is killing my bank account but hopefully i will get their support checks soon. CPS says it could take a month or two to get them redirected to me. Their lawyers ahve to file in court to get them changed into my name. I just keep doing what grandmas do... Take care, Carla

Carla, Just a suggestion, but why don't you start a post with the kids sizes/genders? I'm sure there are people here who have bags of clothes & toys in storage just waiting for a yard sale or something that wouldn't mind givng them to you at all. Hopefully, they'll get everything lined up soon for you. In the meantime, let your OH family step up & help out..k? I know you feel like you're just being a grandma, but not all grandmothers would be willing to become 'mom' again. Those kids are very fortunate they have you in their lives. hugs.... Sherri

Hi Sherri & all , Sherri, You are such a loving friend and special person. For everything you did for Darrah, I can only say thank you!!! She really needed this, and you went all out for her- I have to say that the word "family" does apply. The Baby Shower was so much fun, and we all had such a great time Sherri, you out did yourself and~the favors were so cute!!! Everything was so pretty, and you and Angie made such wonderful memories for Darrah. Oh, and the cake was so good- you've got to post the reciepe for us! It just goes to show that "looks" aren't everything! It was so much fun to visit with everyone and catch up on the "news/views" I haven't laughed so hard since the Clothing Exchange!!!! For those of you who missed it, Darrah was so happy and pleased- with all the trauma of her Fathers death and having to go to Kansas, it was a real time of "family" for her. Please keep her & Chris in your prayers. ((((hugs)))) Ellen

Ellen, I do remember that the tub & tea were how we met! What a wonderful start to a terrific friendship! It will probably be Feb. 24th because I can't get in the tub until after the 19th (you can't for 1 month after Lasik). Sherri

Wow, it looks like Darrah really had a wonderful supportive time with everyone there. Seriously, just look at the glow, happiness, and love on her face. I have to admit, I'm slightly teary eyed and feeling guilty that I wasn't able to make it. I wish I could have been able to send something, but living on disability pay I'm limited in what I can do sometimes myself. I think it's awesome that Darrah found us in time. That GOD directed her life towards the positivity of meeting each one of us so that we could be there in her brightest and darkest hours - when she's always needed all of us or one of us. I also feel humbled and blessed by being a part of Darrah's life experience as a friend. I feel blessed to know each and everyone of you that attended and offered Darrah support. You are truely wonderful souls. Special souls. Don't forget to hug yourself this evening on my behalf. Yes I will be hosting the next Clothing Exchange... waiting for the church to give me a date in April so I can post it ASAP. Sherri, Can't wait for a HT&T Party. Won't be able to get in the HT but I"m always up for tea and food, espically lately, hahah! Jodi
