has any one herd of saint frances hospital on southport road in indpls ind well that is where i go to get my bypass my insurence only pays for me to go there [email protected]

Hello. St. Francis Hospital is actually in Beech Grove and there is one on Stop 11 and Emerson. The St. Francis Medical and Surgical Weight Loss Center is on Southport Road and is their office, not where they do the surgery. Dr. Jon Mandelbaum is doing my surgery and I think very highly of him. I have heard very good things about Dr. Clark as well. In your earlier post you asked if you were too old, but you didn't say how old you are. I am 51 and don't think I am too old to have the surgery, although I'm sure I will wish I had the surgery years ago. Good Luck. Donna

Hey Donna, Do you have a date?

This is where I am having my surgery, hopefully!! I have been working with them for about 1 year. One thing they forgot to mention is that you will need to attend two of thier support group meetings. They are held every third wednesday from 5:30 - 7:00. From 5:30 -6:00 is for us newbies and then from 6:00 - 7:00 is for those who have had the surgury but we are allowed to stay. This is a requirement before they will operate. Just an FYI they are not the fastest bunch but are very nice and will return phone calls and emails rather quickly! Are you going for the gastric bypass or the lap band?

Amy, I don't have a date yet, but think I might get one today. I am going to the Roux-N-Y class on February 1. Do you have a date? Do you have Dr. Mandelbaum or Dr. Clark? I have been going to Support Group Meetings since November 05 and have only missed two, I think. So, I'm good for that requirement. I have had nothing but a positive experience with everyone there. I used St F's Weight Loss Center on Southport Rd. Had surgery at St F's Beech Grove with Dr Clark. THey are an awesome bunch of girls there. I had the lapband Aug 31 of 2005.
