Leftovers...

It took me some time to figure it out, but I can't tolerate leftovers. I can eat them, but 99.9% of the time I am having stomach cramps and on some occasions throw up. These are heated leftovers and it could be anything from meat to pasta and rice. Cold left overs are tolerable, but they too on occasion have left me cramping. Am I odd? (my eating habits, not me as a person - I know the answer to that one. )

I am SURE pasta and rice is NOT on your yellow sheet yet! Shame on you... I DID have trouble with reheating leftovers in the micro.. like a hamburger.. dried it out to much.. Gotta be careful with that.. I sometimes now have a little trouble..Yesterday I made a Breakfast casserole with eggs sasauge and potatoes and it felt like I was getting kicked in the stomach for about 1/2 hour.. it had left my pouch and my intesties were haveing difficulty with it.. Gotta be careful not to eat dry foods for a while.. Linda

Deanna, I can't do the pasta or rice thing at all (I became hypoglycemic) but meats...if I reheat them, I better plan on dipping them in ketup or something because otherwise, they are just too dry and will get stuck on me (and up it'll come!). You kinda learn how best to do all your food to make your pouch the happiest. And yes, be careful to stay with what is on the yellow sheets. Pasta may taste good, but it becomes a mass of dough in your pouch that can cause some realy tummy pains. Rice can also expand in your pouch. Right now, you want to stick to meats/meat substitutes, low fat dairy, some veggies & fruits, and very few carbs (mainly instant mashed potatoes). Remember that you DO need at least 100 g carbs a day to prevent problems but more than that can slow you down with your weight loss. If in doubt of what you're getting in, check out sparkpeople.com (great for food, water, and exercise) and/or fitday.com. And no, you are NOT odd! Sherri

"Remember that you DO need at least 100 g carbs a day to prevent problems " I know I am probably asking way too many questions this early in the process but I can understad needing enough water and protein. but why the carbs? 100 carbs seem like a lot especially when they just break down into sugars

*sniffles* No they aren't on the sheet... But they tasted good the first time. *hugs and goes back to studying the yellow sheet* Thanks ladies, I knew if I came here someone would have experienced something related to this.
