Thanks to all who have responded to my post. Thank You Jan for the compliments given to Jamie. She is a sweet and beautiful girl. I would like to attend the next meeting with her if she would like me to be with her. To try to answer all the questions from the post, Jamie is 25 years old. She is getting a lot of attention from everyone that she never got before and I believe there is some jealousy from some of her girlfriends also. I think part of the problem was that she was not prepared for all of this. I am not an expert and maybe you can't be prepared for all the changes but she really rushed. I hear about people who try to get approved for months and even years and bam she was approved and had a surgery date within 2 months. She is not sorry she did this and she knows that she had to do something medically for her health. I hope that time will bring the changes that she needs to stop the emotional battle she is having. Thanks again to all. I wish you the very best.

Diane, I am so sorry that your daughter is struggling, but I am so glad to hear that she has started private therapy. How old is she? I am sure this new lifestyle would be difficult for a young person. She probably has lost the old eating friends that she had. Some of her old friends might be jealous of her too. She may not have developed some new friends to do things with now that she is a thinner person. She may also see herself as the heavier person she used to be. I am just guessing how and why she is feeling as she does. It might be a good idea for you to try to come with her to the support group meeting in Fort Wayne if she is interested in coming. This will be the first one that I can attend since I have had my surgery. I believe they are held at the Turnstone building at 6:30 on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. I hope your daughter finds the joy in her life that comes with being healthier and thinner. Karen
