Does anyone know who this is & what his coop meetings are?

Hi Jana, I know him only in that he was the person who did my pre-op psyche eval. I know that he teaches at IU and that he does most of the psych consults for Clarian bariatric center. I'm not sure what a coop meeting is, so I can't help you there. He's a very nice, soft spoken person, but I only met with him for an hour or so, so I don't have a lot of info about him. I know that Clarian does group meetings every 1st and 3rd wednesday at their office on the west side at Intech Park. I'm going to one tonight. They are run by Ruthanne Hilbrich who is just AWESOME in my book. Hope that helps, Ken

Coop Group meetings are for patients 1 yr. out, and beyond and is held at St. Vincents. It is a time for post-op people to get together,support each other, continue their journey & commitment to WLS. I have only attended 1meeting so far, and found it very inspiring. Dr.Guare was the Speaker at the time- he isn't at every meeting. They have different Speakers and topics at each monthly meeting. He also does intense six or eight week sessions with a small group. The fee last year was $150. I think his next one is going to be in April. You could contact the St V Bariatric Center and ask to speak with Linda Rodrigues(SP?) She is the one that helps fill these sessions. I'm going to try and get in the next one. I've been to a few of the coop meetings and have heard nothing but great things about the sessions. If you ever are on wlsindy.com you could speak with one of the site administrators Bob or his wife Jill. They have both had gastric bypass and went to these sessions. By the way, because of insurance changes I am now going to see Dr Gomez at Wishard. I'd love to chat about your experience with him and their program. I see him tomorrow for the first time. Thanks!
