Melissa, Welcome and good luck! I would just like to add, that it might be very helpful, that whenever you do talk to someone on the phone such as the insurance companies to always take notes, write down who you spoke with, their name, date, what was said, the ???'s asked, it does help and sometimes in the end it is needed for documentation and clarification! Also, maybe a fax number or direct numbers to certain individuals that you may need to speak with directly! My insurance only required a letter of medical necessity! I asked for the name of the person who told me this, also her # and then I was given the name of the person that would either approve or deny my case, I had her direct # as well as a fax #, which is where I had the info faxed to and then 2 hours later I called to make sure she had received it after it was faxed to her attention. She said why yes I did receive it, it was faxed directly to me, and not only did I receive it, but you have already been approved! Not everyone is as lucky, but it can/does help! This is just my 2 cents worth, though! Good luck, hugz Dawn

Melissa, I wish I would have started a dr supervised diet during the time I was researching and getting my information ready for the insurance company. I didnt and then was denied after about 3 months into my journey due to lack of a 6month diet. I started one immediately, but had I started it in the beginning, I would have already had 3 months under my belt. As it is, I am probably going to be May before I can refile with the finished 6 month diet. So, my suggestion would be to get started on that now, just in case! Linda
