Clothing Exchange
That was great!! I just love seeing everyone and meeting all the new friends! I ate way too much but it was so good and I was so hungry! I loved the no bake cookies that Tammy brought! I ate three of them and I don't even like sweets. I also liked the RR dessert. Yummy!
It was so nice to see everyone and visit with you all. I was sorry to miss a few people like Jen, Darrah, Pamela, Tracy, Vicky (wonder woman) still hoping to get some plastic info from you! But I know how busy we all are and can't see everyone every time! I was so proud of all of us! Everyone looks great Tammy you look so beautiful! I just get goose bumps looking at all the pictures of our pasts and seeing were we all are now! So cool!
Betsy it was nice to visit with you and I am so glad you told me so much about Dolly world. I can't wait for spring break now! But I think the best part of the get together was all the girl talk with all you classy lady's and let me tell you all I use that word classy very loosely!!! I learned some interesting stuff! Especially about what to do with metal washers! LOL
Thank you all for being my friends and sharing your journeys!!!!
Carmen
Carmen,
Sorry I missed the exchange.....when is the next one? I would like to attend and take the opportunity to visit, but if we don't to the next clothing exchange maybe we could meet for an afternoon lunch on a Friday or Saturday sometime....you live in Greenwood right? I could bring my PS photos (I'm to shy to post the photos of my PS on line) however....anything you would like to ask...just ask. The bariatric surgery was a piece of cake compared to the TT & BL/BA. I had it done on 9/22 and was off of work for 5 weeks and I tell you what ...it was rough. Not the breast part so much as the abdominoplasty. My PS said she removed 5-7LBS of excess skin. I am pleased with the results so far....I'm still wearing a binder for comfort and If I over do it...I swell some. I went w/ Turkle & Assoc. out of Carmel. Looking at my before photos....it is a big difference...I had lost over 150lbs. so my belly was stretched out pretty bad, as well as my chest. Its nice not having to buy "granny" bras and underware any more. The scars are not that bad...in fact when I'm wearing my bra and pantys you cant even see them! I was in the hospital overnight....the surgery took about 6/7 hours. When I went home the pain meds that I took caused me to have constipation....so I was uncomfortable for about a week...then I switched back to the liquid lortab(for pain) they gave me when I came home from my Rou-N-Y and I was back to normal. I had to wear a drain tube for 2 weeks....and then I had swelling that I though would never go away....but after about a month I finally got into my favorite pair of Jeans. Jogging paints will be your savior (& your binder) for the first 4 to 6 weeks. Also standing up straight didn't happen till about the 4th week.....and sleeping on my back wasn't easy either....but I got use to it eventually. I didn't drive till the 3rd week( and that wasn't far). As far as the scarring goes I use cocoa butter daily...I'm not seeing a significant change but I like how it makes my skin feel. I might try Mederma...I'll let you know if I do. You will definately need assistance the first week post op. As far as diet goes....I kinda lost my appetite the first week, but by the 2/3 week I was back to normal as far as that goes. I'm 15 months post-op so my appetite now seems to have come back....so I really have to watch it, I'm scared to death of gaining weight back. Well sorry I keep rambling on.....take care.....again, if you have any questions feel free to ask. Take Care!
Vickie
Vicki, Its so good to see you post. Its great to see you are doing so well post PS. Im looking forward to getting to goal and having mine done. Im tired of wearing girdle type undies to keep up all the skin and wearing pants a size larger to hold in all the skin. It was so great to meet you and Melanine at the Christmas party...hope to see you both again soon.
Mariah
Thanks Mariah.......nice to here from you! Hope all is well. Way to go on your loss so far....your doing great! You'll be at goal before you know it! Take care....I hope to make it to the next clothing exchange....if not some of us should get together sometime and do lunch and then walk the mall.
Take care-
Vickie
