Setting up a support group?

I live too far to be able to attend regular support group meetings with my surgeons group. My friend (also a WLS patient) and I are trying to set up a support group in our area(Huntingburg/Jasper IN). Does anyone have any suggestions on how they have set up a support group? OMG Mary, my heart did a flip when I saw your name. Welcome to the board, and please, feel free to post more often! I would start b checking your local library & hospital to be sure there isn't already a support group there. If not, ask where you got your surgery what they would reccomend. OH does have a program to become a registered group leader that some bariatric offices recognize and will allow to count toward pre-op's required support sessions pre & post-op (for those whose insurance has that as a requirement). You can also just get a group of people together to support each other (we did this at work). In the meantime, there is alot of support here on this board if/when you need it. Sherri
