This should get you all smiling for a few minutes today! LOL I like to run on the treadmill each day, and have lost about 190 lbs. Over the last 9 months, so needless to say I have some hanging skin! ("Some" is sort of understating it) So I am tired of feeling the skin on my backside flap up and down on the back of my legs with each step! So I was thinking what can I do to keep this from happening? I like most fat people have a huge fear of spandex! I was part of the Friends don't let fat friends were spandex club for most of my life!!! So I have none and didn't want to buy any if it didn't really solve my problem! Sooo... I thought about it and came up with a new plan. I decided to workout wearing some pantyhose. It started out ok and did seem to solve my problem! No more flapping and it also helped with the front part since they were control top hose! But by the time I started sweating, things changed! I started feeling a little sore between my legs! But not bad enough to stop after all my heart rate was already up and I didn't want to start over! So by the time I was done, my legs were on fire! When I got upstairs and pulled everything off to have a look I was in shock! I have the reddest rash and sore I have ever seen. It hurts soooo bad! Not a good choice! So if you all see me out and about walking like a cowgirl now you will know why! Have a blessed day, Carmen PS does anyone know the best place to get some spandex? LOL

Carmen, Too funny! I had surgery the same day as you and have lost 140 pounds so I can relate. We just bought a new treadmill this weekend. I got it assembled yesterday and used it last night. Didn't think of the pantyhose, but now that I read this, glad I didn't. Good luck finding some spandex. lol Have a great day! Floyd

Lol, oh Carmen, that must be very uncomfortable. I will remember that for the future. No pantyhose on the treadmill! Linda Vicory

Oh OUCH! I can remember the rashes i used to get from them just WEARING them when i was bigger, let alone RUNNING in them! You poor thing! Gold Bond Medicated POwder- it will be your best friend. Yeah the giggly skin (and other things) really bother me when I run, too. I think I AM going to invest in some "biking" shorts to wear under my walking pants/shorts. I used to be afriad I'd put my eye out by one of the girls so I had to switch to sports bras. Now Im afraid my belly might do the same thing! Not much I can do about my arms though. I HATE that gross sound they make too.

Oh gosh I have been there before. It is miserable!! I wore a skirt in NYC and walked ALL OVER that city. Well I didn't wear hose or anything with it so for hours it was just skin on skin. SO PAINFUL!! Lots of lotion and some ice should help. Looks like you might have to get that spandex after all! Sam

Oh Carmen my sides are splitting!!! I am NOT LAUGHING AT YOU-BUT WITH YOU! I have had the same exact problem and HAVE to wear support hose for my legs ( bad veins & flabby thighs). I decided a good sports bra (keeps the "girls" out of my eyes~hehe) and biker pants are going to be my new wardrobe for exercise. GoldBond powder does help- put it on BEFORE you exercise. Oh, and just tell folks you were out riding your (((hugs))) Ellen

Carmen, Corn Starch works wonders. Better than baby powder and diaper rash medications. We use it on my baby grandson and its better that desitin. My son also uses it sometimes after he has been running on a hot day. Linda

Hey Girlfriend~ Boy, you and me sure do have a lot in common! I started jogging awhile ago and I love it but my excess skin at my tummy smacks and pounds so it is really painful. I was afraid of spandex too but I gave in and it really does help. I wear a pair of really fitted biker shorts and if I am going out in public I'll wear a pair of looser pants over them. Give them a try, it'll help prevent the "chub rub"!! Jaimee
