Well it is Monday again and I have 5 days here at my old job.. Fri. I got the devistateing news that I am being transfered with 3 other people to go to a downtown position answering phonecalls. PERMANATLY!! #1 I dont want to go downtown #2 I may loose my position because I am higher than the ones currently on the phones. #3 The STRESS this job has conected to it will make it sooo hard to loose.. people said oh goodie you can walk the canal.. nope they also took 1/2 of my lunch hour away.. they want us on 1/2 hour lunches.. I can see Peggy for 2-5 m inutes..about all the time we will have to see eachother since we will be in different buildings... and my son... I will ride to work with him.. Pray I dont get lost... I hate changes.. unless it is of course smaller numbers in my hip sizes... Linda

Good morning everyone! It's another sleepy day for me. I hit the snooze bar till ~ 5 this morning. It was just too good ! At least the roads weren't bad at all. In fact, for me, they were all dry. I heard on the radio that it's suppose to be up to 42 Wednesday...and warm up more the rest of the week. Linda..I'm not one for change at work either. Since transferring to Indy in '99, I have had 5 different supervisors and all the techs who were here left (one went on a 3 yr maternity leave and just came back), the ones who came in within the first 2 yrs I was here are gone also. So...it's a whole new batch of people. Every supervisor had their own management styles. I've learned to be flexible..not that I have to like it though. All I can say is try to find some positives and don't dwell on the negatives. It's the only way to make changes . I best get busy... Have a good day everyone! Sherri

Morning Linda, Sorry that you have to change jobs and hopefully it won't be so bad. It's very hard switching jobs. Brenda and I just moved here from Dayton when the politicians in Washington decided to close our location. She was 4 years short of being able to retire, so we were forced to relocate in order to keep jobs. Luckily, Indy was one of five choices and it is turning out to be a pretty good move. I don't like the job I'm in now, but there are plenty of advancement opportunities here and I've already applied for a couple. This present job is alright, just way too boring. There is no work to do (which is evident of the amount of time I spend on this board during the day...lol). I guess there could be worse things tho. Enjoy your last week at your present job. See you on Saturday. Floyd

Oh Linda, I hate changes at work too. I dread getting privatized by the administration, even though I feel pretty sure I'd still have a job, it would be alot different. I hope the new position goes well for you. Well it's Monday! I am glad for it. My weekend at the DV shelter was full of excitement and drama. The week feels like a slow down for me. Tonight I'm going to go through my clothes and bag up the ones for the exchange. And then at 7pm I'm going to do weight lifting! Yippee. I just feel so positive when I've seen that I can do more than I thought I could do. Linda Vicory

Linda, I'm sorry the job change isn't what you were wanting but I wish you the best with the move. Hopefully, in the not too distant future, you will be able to say this was a turning point for better things in your life. I'm in the south building and usually just take a 30 minute lunch or grab something to eat at my desk. But when you get moved and settled, look me up and we can complain to each other about our jobs during that 30 minutes in the cafeteria. Annette Cousert

Awh LInda, that is too bad, I'm sorry. I was moved to a different branch starting next week due to SOMEONE ELSE not doing what they were supposed to do. I can supposedly request a transfer in a couple weeks, but i know what that means. Man is it GOURGEOUS out today or what? I woke up and looked out the window and thought "i gotta hurry up and get dogs out for potty and get myself out there and walk!" And thats just what I'm going to do!

I'm in the south building as well. I always eat at my desk. When I was heavier I had this thing about people seeing my eat. So I would always just eat at my desk. That's one reason I didn't tell people about my surgery because I don't want people watching what I eat. Went to the grocery last night so today I am trying to get back on track with eating right etc. Still need to order protein but payday is still a few days away. The house is coming along nicely. I will upload pictures to my Picturetrail account tonight so you can all see! Sam

I so understand your frustration !! I too was moved to a position which I absilutely hate in August, I am trying to adjust, but it is not easy !! I have never in all my working years, since late 1960's had to work in such an environment, with hoity toity back stabbing witches always trying to get my goat !! LOL I know it is a test, and I can overcome this!! i KNOW YOU CAN TOO Yes, the stress has taken it's toll, and am finding the # trying to creep back on. My stubbornness will not let that happen, so back to water and protien to break this viscious cycle !! Good luck and just stick your chin up and know you are not alone. E-mail me whenever you want.

Well Linda I wish I could understand your position. I found out at the end of Nov that the company I have been working for for 14yrs is going to be closing there doors. On the upside of this is I am hoping I can be absorbed with Indiana Insurance company that is in the same building. I currently work for GoAmerica Auto Ins. which is a division of Liberty Mutual. I hate to loose my seniority and vacation time which is a month. But I have not heard anything as when our final day will be. We still have a lot of things that need to be taken care of with the book of business we have but the agents are or will be moving that before the policies expire so I just come in and do what I am suppose to do and what is asked of me until my time is up. But I don't let this get me down and out, all I can be is thankful I have job right now and I know something will come up for me in the future. Bonnie
