Hello all. I have been watching the men's board for a long time now, and finally stumbled onto the Indiana board. Just wanted to say hello. I'll be having Lap RNY at Clarian North on Jan 18. I'm a little freaked out, but generally feel pretty good about it. Have been researching it for a long time now. I'm glad I found the board and look forward to hearing some of your stories soon. Wish me luck! Ken

The time will fly before you know it. I think it's pretty normal to have some nervousness before surgery. I know I did. I was afraid of what if I didn't come through, or had a complication, or what if the surgery didn't work for me. I was at St. V's and they took really good care of me, though. I was up walking in acouple hours, and sip-sip-sipping. I am sure you'll do fine. I have had a great experience so far. My surgery was 11/21/06, and I have lost 41 pounds to date. I am just feeling great. Linda Vicory

WELCOME KEN!!!!!!!!!! I also had my surgery done at Clarian north, and let me say what a wonderful group of people they have there. Jon, the day nurse is the best. I hope you get to have him, he is one of a kind. Not only did they take good care of me, they took great care of my mom, *****fused to leave my side until I was discharged. They brought her warm blankets, pillows, and even brought her stuff in case she wanted to take a shower. They are amazing. Who is your suregon? Clarian is not far from my house, I can swing by and walk a lap with you, if you would like. Just let me know. You'll do great!!! Welcome to the Hoosier Losers. Take care, S.

Ken, Good Luck !! I just had mine done on 12/26/06. I'm doing well actually. Better than what I thought as far as getting around. The biggest challenge is getting everything done everyday as far as getting all your vitamins and proteins in. The nutritionist said that is normal to have trouble, but as time goes on you learn how to. I've managed to meet the goal 2 days and fall short the other, but I'm getting there. I hope all goes well and I will be praying for you. Beth

Ken, I have just recently discovered the men's board and have seen some of your posts. I've just moved to Indy a couple months ago. I had RNY done in April and have lost 140 pounds. It would be great if you could come to the clothing exchange next Saturday. I'm really looking forward to meeting some of these fine people. Good luck on the 18th. Will be talking with you. Floyd
