update on Karen Wing
Hello
Once again we are back at the butterfly hotel in Carmel. Mom had strange symptoms on Thursday morning pressure/pain in the chest, cold chest, dizzy, lightheaded. I called Dr. Inman right away they said to take her to the ER in our town immediately. So after they ran tests and tried to get an IV 14 times they finally did and was able to do a catscan and it showed the possibility of 3 blood clots in her lungs. They didn't want to committ to an actual diagnosis but they called them "suspicious". I did not feel comfortable with their "suspicious" diagnosis and requested they call Dr. Inman and talk about a transfer to St. V's. She okayed and mom went by ambulance all the way. So it is now friday about 5:00 and they are running another catscan to see things again. They started her on blood thinners and are talking coumidin or maybe a IVF filter. I guess that is supposed to catch the little buggers before they get to the lungs. Right now no one has decided anything but will keep you all updated. I think she just wanted to come back for the banana popsicles ; ) I would appreciate all your thoughts and prayers we are scared but we also know she is in the best possible place. I'm sure things will be fine but this wait and see is the toughest part.
Thanks
Micah
Hey
Mom said she would enjoy visiting with you. She is in room 252. They put a filter in her vein today because they found 2 more clots. She is doing farely well, not very mobile but can carry a conversation. We don't know when she will be going home, but I figure she will still be here when you get a chance to come by.
Thanks
Micah
