well it is "Happy Birthday" to me today
One year ago today and I was changing my life forever and I am so glad that I did. I am down to 170 pounds from 303 pounds and in size 10-12 jeans and xl shirts and some large. I still have about 40 pounds that I need to get rid of to make goal but the weight loss has seemed to stop. I wish I could figure out how to get rid of the last 40 pounds and then keeping it off. This surgery has changed my life and for the better I might add. Any ideas about jump starting the weight loss again would be greatly appreciated. Well thanks for listening to be blabb for a little bit.
I hope everyone has a great day and Happy New Year to all.
Kylie
Kylie,
Happy Re-birth Day!
If you find out the secret for those last few pounds, share it with me...k? I have been at 168-173 for about 6 months now. My first PS consult is Jan. 8th and I figure she'll tell me that ps will remove 20-30 lbs. I would like to be ~140 when it is all said and done. That would be about right for 5'6". I have to wait awhile to have the PS to get my FMLA built back up (and to get up the $$) so I'm hoping to lose ~10 lbs during that wait time. Should be do-able since I'll be able to start walking again soon and will start working out again the end of January (expecting doc to clear me then). So...fingers are crossed!
Always heard the key is to increase one or more of: PEW (Protein, Exercise, Water).
Enjoy this day!
Sherri

Happy Birthday Kylie, you are doing good i think, with your loss.i had my surgery on 11-1-05 and i started at 270 and am just now down to 164 and have been holding there for over 4 months. i cant get it to start up again for nothin.. i walk 3 miles a day and still nothing. i am in the same size as you and also want to lose another 40lb. let me know if you find a way to kick start the weight loss again.
Hope you enjoy your birthday and have an awesome New Year. Carla
Kylie,
Congrats Kylie, I'm right there with ya, on the weight loss stoping. I'm a little over 1 year out and I've been messing back and forth with the same 3-4 pounds since late October. Started at 258 pounds and I'm at 147 pounds now. My goal before surgery was 140 pounds, but now I want to get to 130, and that's the lowest Dr. C wants me at. I wear size 10-12, I definately will need a tummy tuck and breast lift. I said before surgery I was a 46 C, now I'm a 38 long
I have decided that I am going to start working out harder to see if building more muscle will help with the skin issues before I see a plastic surgeon, hopefully that will motivate me to get busy in the gym. I have seen posts on the main board about a 10 day program (mainly protein) to jump start the weight loss again. I was going to ask the dietician about it but forgot to print it out. I am not endorsing it at all, just giving you the info. Great job on your weight loss so far.
