It's Friday, it's Friday...
Time for my happy dance!
I can relate to the shock kids' birthdays. This year my son turned 28. He is now the same age as me!
Enjoy the long weekend! I am finally having MY side of the family to our house on New Year's Day. We've only lived there two years and have hosted my husband's family on numerous occasions. Finally my turn.
I've got my clothes bagged for the clothing exchange and I'm looking forward to meeting you all then.

Angie I will be praying for Ed and for them to be understanding at your new job!
Linda- Have a super time tonight! Jim and I try to do that same thing a least twice a year! It sure can make a difference in our marriage! Being a stay at home Mom I do love to just get a tiny break from the kids!! We had dinner downtown last night and it was so good. We just walked right into PF Changs (SP) and had the best meal! Quick and so full of flavor! We just shared a meal and we still had food to bring home!
Annette- Have fun at your party!!! I sure wish I had family close enough to have over! Enjoy it!
Just to keep up with you ladies!!! My oldest turned 21 in September and my baby is only 2. LOL I hope that time starts to move along fast, I am so done changing diapers!!! LOL
I got my student ID made and a new Drivers License! I love the new pictures, but I also love that for the first time ever I didn't lie about my weight!!!
Yesterday Jim and I had our picture made together. The photo man said he got some really good shots; I can't wait to see them. He spent several hours a few days ago taking our family picture, but isn't sure he is happy with what he got. Too many little people that didn't want to hold still. We may have to go back and try again! Oh well!
Hope you all have a great day!
Carmen
Hello everyone!
I can't even say I've been lurking. Just been SO busy. Between my dad, work, school, dr appts for me & hubby- it's been a madhouse over here. To add (but in a good way!) to the madhouse, I got a puppy for Christmas. She has the same mama as one of our other dogs, and is just adorable. We named her Bailey, and she's currently sleeping next to me in a cat bed. So I'm getting used to getting up every two hours to take her out to potty. I figured, I might as well get used to running on sporadic sleep, because soon I'll be up at least that often for diaper changes and feedings.
I had gotten worried about my weight gain, because I'm not really eating any differntly than I have been since I got preggo, but all of a sudden I gained 10 pounds in a week. I thought it was a fluke, that my scale was playing tricks, but the dr's scale confirmed it. I'm really thinking about changing OBs. She makes me nervous. Not to mention she seems totally uninformed about WLS. She couldnt understand why I was so upset that I had gained 10 pounds in a week (never mind i've had other symptoms of toxemia, but she just wont test me for whatever reason). "You're not even up to your pre pregnancy weight, what are you so upset about?" HELLO?! At my last appt she asked me "so what are they going to do about your surgery after you have the baby?" I asked what did she mean. She thought they would have to redo my surgery after the baby gets here. THOSE are the kinds of things that make me want to run screaming from the building. If i can do a natural birth, she'd be okay, but if I have a C-section, do I REALLY want this woman poking around in my insides and possibly not putting something back where it goes now? PLus My poor feet have been SO swollen sometime I cant even wear my husband's 4E shoes. I increased my fluids tho, and 8 of those 10 pounds have gone away, I chalk the other 2 pounds up to the baby, cause she should weigh just about that much now. So all in all at 6.5 months, I've gained 7 pounds, not too shabby I dont think.
Darrah,
Speaking from past experience: If you aren't comfortable with your OB, change...FAST! I can't recommend one that is familiar with wls, but I bet your surgeon can. As for the toxemia, I don't know if there is a specific test, but I had pre-eclampsia (related to toxemia) and my only real symptom was high blood pressure. Again, if you aren't getting the attention needed, find a better OB. You definitely don't want someone you don't trust attending you while you are bringing that precious life into the world.
Good luck,
Cindy
