Whew! I enjoyed yesterday thoroughly, but I'm sure glad Christmas is done for another year!
The grandkids didn't open any gifts until we got there. I am quite sure Chance (he's almost 6) was biting at the bit! LOL! Between 'Santa' gifts, Mamaw & Papaw gifts
, and stockings, it took the little ones an hour or so to open everything. Then we ate and put the 3 youngest ones down for a much needed nap. Bill's mom was afraid that it would start getting dark and/or the weather would get worse. so we separated out all the rest of the presents so that we could get hers out of the huge mix. She loved everything..including the banners and bathroom decor I had made for her. She said she couldn't wait to show them off...lol! She went home a very happy and contented woman. Then it was the rest of the adults turn! We do ours 1 adult at a time opens all their gifts. The kids insist we start with me
. Bill is next. Then we pretty much did it oldest to youngest of the kids. Not planned that way, just how it turned out. That makes it where we can all see what everyone got. After all that, it was clean up time. I left most of the food I brought there. There's only 2 of us but there's 8 of them over there!
Favorite moments of the day.....
Myranda doing the Limbo with her Elmo.
Chance excited over his gameboy.
Shyanne in awe of her bouncing Tigger.
RJ's loveable smile.
Shelli's 'All gifts go back to Sudoku'.
Jay trying to figure out his MP4.
Rod being thrilled and hugging Chance for the $3.95 saw Chance got him.
Tiffany loving her 'angel' necklace.
Jean (MIL) being touched by the gifts she recieved.
Bill...getting into the spirit of being 'Papaw Claus'.
Yes, it was a very good Christmas. We brought Jeans gifts over to her after we left the kids (and a plate of food!). By the time we got home, it was ~9. We both ended up falling asleep in our chairs! LOL!
I posted a few pics on my profile here, but added many more than that to my pt account: http://www.picturetrails.com/sweetsherri61.
Now to get the gifts that didn't come in yet!!! I'm really looking forward to the mail for the next week or so!
I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas too!
