Hello Karen is doing much better. The doctor took her off the narcotic pain meds and put her on tylenol with codene. The narcotics were making her too sleepy to walk or breathe deeply. They were worried about her Oxygen levels for a while but they went up once she started moving around more. She is still on oxygen through her C-Pap machine and blows bubbles when she tries to drink with it on. (She is such an entertainer!!) She made it to her 1st butterfly about 4am, she always had good timing, I was cheering her on between yawns. This morning she walked to the 1st butterfly AND back instead of using the wheelchair like the first time. I told her congratulations you just doubled your distance, she was surprised at that little fact, obviously the narcotics aren't completely gone. She is on clear fluids and thinks grape juice is straight from God himself. She is still ouchy and hating life at this point, but we all know it gets better. Well we have to go to the discharge class. Thanks for all your support I have been reading her your posts but she doesn't remember them so I read them over and over. I have my laptop on the floor so if there is any message you want relayed it will get to her. Talk to you soon. Micah

Tell her I'm glad she's doing well. My oxygen sats were low while I was on the IV pain meds too. When I got off the meds they were fine. Sarah

Micah, I am so glad Karen is doing better. Any idea of when she'll be discharged yet? I didn't realize you were post-op too. Wow...almost a year from your Mom. That is fantastic! I hope you'll come on here to visit when your Mom is back home. Sherri

Micah, Thanks for keeping us updated on your mom! I am so glad that she is doing better, let her know that we are thinking of her and hoping she is home for the holiday, next year she will look back and this will all be a memory, although right now, she isn't quite thinking that, I am sure!@ We all have been there and have had those thoughts and feelings, it does get better! Your mom was such a sweetie to me and such a support for me on the boards, it was great to meet her at the dinner and ornament exchange, hopefully we can meet you too at the clothing exchange, in January! Congrats to you also on your 1 year anniversary! Hugz dawn
