Update on Karen Wing
Ok so far she is doing well but still so dizzy that she cannot move. She tried to sit on the side of the bed last night and just about passed out. They caught her just in time. The doctor says it is from the blood loss during surgery. Today she will be working on sitting on the side of the bed w/out passing out and she will get popsicles today. Tomorrow they are attempting to get her up and moving. So she is still pretty out of it but was able to visit with Gail who has been a resident here. She is doing very well and is bubbly and happy. She is hoping to go home today.
I will keep you updated as we go...
Micah
I'm so glad you are keeping us posted on your mom. I'm sure she will be up and about soon. She'll stay in my prayers. Yeah!!! I'm so glad Gail if finally able to go home. As much as she hated not being home she was able to get the care she needed to be at home and hopefully this will be her last stay at St. V. Thanks for the
Gail update.
Micah,
Tell your mom to hang in there. I had to have 5 units of blood after my surgery (a leak somewhere around one of the surgery sites, they never did figure out exactly where). I was lightheaded and got dizzy/short of breath whenever I stood up for about 3 weeks. They wound up having to take me off of all of my blood pressure meds for awhile to get it up to speed again. So watch her blood pressure once she goes home and talk to her regular doctor about her meds if it stays low.
I'm glad she is doing well otherwise.
Cindy
Micah,
Please read this to your mom when she's up..and thank you for keeping us posted. If you see Gail, please tell her that we are all thrilled that she is doing better.

Karen,
Sweetie, I told you to stay off that bench but you're bound and determined to have it polished up, aren't you?
You take it easy hon. Sometimes, the old walking shoes just have to wait a little while before being laced up. I was going to give you a call today, but I think given Micah's update on you, I'll let you be the one to dial my number when you are up for a chat. When I had my revision, I had to stay in bed a little bit longer too. It happens. Just enjoy the extra pampering right now. Tomorrow, I'm sure will be better.
We each have our own journies...and it seems that no two are identical. I would wish that no one would have to experience the bumps that WLS can bring, but the important thing is to keep a positive outlook...which, I know you will.
Call me when you feel up to it,
Sherri
