Trip to ER

Well yesterday I had to make a trip to the ER in my local town. I had been having chest pains for two days. I called my surgeon and she said she did not think it was related to the surgery, but that I should go to the ER to rule out Cardiological problems. I went and had some X-rays and blood work. All was fine. So at least I know its not my heart. Although, the pain is still there. It feels like someone is squeezing my heart. Anyone else ever have this problem??

Charles, I'm glad to hear that the X-rays and blood work turned out fine. Hopefully you're feeling better today. It's best to get things checked out when you're not feeling right. It's strange how this surgery affects your body in different ways. Good luck and keep in touch. Floyd

Could be your pouch is just trying to make itself known. My surgeon explained that the pouch sits up higher and kind of right behind your breastbone. The first couple of times my pouch tried to make itself known, my first thought was that it was my heart. I also discovered that all along I had known what route my food took through my body without realizing it. For the first few weeks, each time I ate or drank something I would get this odd feeling and think "hey, cottage cheese, you're going the wrong way! You were supposed to go right and then left not the other way around." With the plumbing re-routed, I had to get used to new sensations in my body. Also my now neglected stomach likes to make lots of noise when I feed my pouch. I think it wants to know why my brain is telling it to spit out all those juices when it's not getting any food. Take care, Annette

Charles, I agree with Annette that itt's probably your pouch saring 'howdy' to you. Since you know your ticker is ok, try dissolving a little bit of meat tenderizer in some warm water, and drink it. If something is stuck, this should un-stick it. Myself, when something was stuck, it came back up but I've heard of others using this trick. If the pain continues, call your surgeon back. Don't just stay miserable..k? Sherri

Charles I never had that kind of problem, however you surely did the right thing by having it checked out. I have all kinds of aches and pain but mostly due to old age. lol. Hope you start feeling better and enjoy the weight loss. Dan

I"ve been having those squeezing feelings for some time myself, and i'm glad to hear its the pouch "Making itself known." I am, curious, though....how long will it remain so vocal?
