Scope update/WOW moment
Saturday I went shopping for a size 22 jeans since my 24's were looking a little frumpy. I go into a store to try some on and grabbed the wrong size which was a 20 and they fit great. I couldn't believe it!! Then I had to get some lotion for a gift a Victoria's Secret and the cashier asked if I wanted to apply for some card that would give me a % off of undergarments there. Then it hit me......I asked her what are the largest sized of undergarments there and she said 38DD. I laughed, denied the card and told her I would be back in the Spring. The only thing I've been able to wear in that store has been the lotion. Maybe, just maybe, I might go back in the spring.
Update on the scope I had done today.......
The procedure went very well but the doctor performing it said my esophagus was constricted and he stretched it a little. I have to have another done on January 3rd. I'm hoping this will make me be able to eat and keep everything down without feeling miserable.

Regina,
It's pretty standard procedure that if you have to have 1 endo and you have a stricture, they will do one or two more as a follow-up to ensure that you stay open. You ought to be feeling much better...if not already, by tomorrow.
congrats on those 20's! I use to try on my 'too small' clothes on a monthly basis. If I didn't, they'd be too big before I ever got a chance to wear them.

If the doctor just stretched my esophagus is that considered a stricture? This morning I ate 1 oz. cheese and 1 oz. of applesauce and it seems my stomach is a little upset. Maybe I am doing something wrong because it seems everytime I eat it upsets my stomach. Doesn't matter what I eat or drink (especially protein drinks) it upsets my stomach.

Regina,
Being closed up is a stricture...although the most common place that you hear about is at the stoma...where the intestine is reattached.
You may want to lay off of dairy products for a few days. Isopure is one protein drink that had no lactose in it...maybe someone out there can suggest some other kinds (I couldn't stand the taste of isopure myself). You may be going through some lactose intolerance right now. Give it a week or so and then slowly try to add dairy back. I'd start with string cheese. Many of us do go through lactose intolerance issues...some temporary, some permanent. Mine lasted about 2 months.

Regina,
I have a scope scheduled tomorrow. Pretty much think I have a stricture. I am having a hard time keeping food down, and the liquids are going sooo slow. The only thing that seems to be agreeing with my tummy is warm tea. I did get some shredded cheese down today, but it took forever to eat it.
I have never had a scope before, so a little nervous. Just hope they can get to the bottom of this. I was having such a good experience before this.
Hope your issues get fixed, too. And great news on the 20's!
Tina
I was nervous as well but they give you some meds thru the IV and before you know it you're waking up. The doctor said he stretched my esophagus so I'm not sure if that is considered a stricture or not. I thought the strictures were where the intestine was reattached at the new stomach and lower intestine. I have to go back again on the 3rd for another one. Only side effects I had were that I was tired the rest of the day so I just took it easy.
