Got a surgery date!

I got my surgery date. It is January 5, 2007 I have waited so long for this day to come. I am so thankful and glad. Please remember me in your prayers. : angel :

Tammy, Welcome and good luck to you. You have made a good decision in choosing a Dr. I have Dr. Huse also and he is awesome, I have actually used him for another surgery after my WLS. I dont think there is a better Dr. anywhere. I have to tell you, i had open surgery and had very little real pain. dont get me wrong the first day wasnt great but the next afternoon i was off all pain meds. i was uncomfortable but not in real bad pain. i give him credit for that, i just thought it was his great skill. I have a pretty good pain tolerance but was surprised that i didnt hurt that bad. My scar is only about 2 1/2 inches long. I dont know if you are having open or lap but i dont think you will be sorry. I will keep you in my prayers. Carla

Tammy, congratulations on getting a date! I can remember how excited I was when I finally got that letter and phone call. I got that call the end of July. Since I am a school teacher that was too quick to schedule surgery with the start of school, so I decided to wait until Christmas vacation. I didn't think the time would ever come....but I am scheduled for next Wed.!!!! I can't wait to start this magnificent journey. Never before have I had such a desire to get my health back. Your time will be here before you know it. Stay on this board. You will make a lot of new friends, get a lot of encouragement, and learn many things that you will need to know. Karen

Val, How are ya? havent been seeing your posts much, you must be busy or i just cant find them. i always look for your posts as i have been praying for your upcoming surgery and the events leading up to it becoming a reality. Hope you are doing well. I hope you have a safe trip next month and hope your surgery is smooth and you heal quickly. will you stay down there a few days or how does that work. i need to get with you on all that cause i may have a friend that will go that route. I want to thank each and every one of you who have gave me words of courage. And remembering me in your prayers. I am getting ready for post op test on wednesday and then the 8 hour dietatian on Thursday then i am having the surgery in january,. Keep on praying for me and thanks again. angel Tammy
