Thursday Morning

Hello all! I hope everyone is going to have a good day today. I have to work of course, but I will be at my high school that I serve, and that usually makes for a fun day. Finished Christmas shopping yesterday. Santa is bringing Mikey my nine yo son a PSP and a game for it, and bringing my daughter Maggie a disney princess TV for her room, and a Barbie doll. Hello everyone!!! Well it looks as today is going to be a another warm one. Can you believe it? I am ok with the nice weather as long as we have Snow on Christmas day then it can leave as quickly as it comes in......lol. I still have minor Christmas shopping left to do I think we are going to try to get it done this weekend. I am also hoping I can get my son on the garage roof so he can finish putting up the Icle lights, hubby works second shift so I try to get as much done during the week nights so he doesn't have such a long list for the weekend.... Hey everyone... It's going to be warm... I'm going to start walking today, I want to be able to breathe a little better before I have my surgery in February. I got all my pre op testing schedule things in the mail yesterday. Does anyone know how long the Pre op testing takes? Is it an all day thing? I don't know if i should request the whole day off or what? and the lung testing what about that? I hope everyone has a great day!! I have not done ANY of my christmas shopping and will be doing ALL of it this weekend!! PRAY FOR ME!!! God Bless Jessyca

Good morning everyone. I will be off work tell next Monday, So I can check in here a little more. I had to have a nother repair job done from my hystrorectomy stuff. I still have to have a big surgery to fix some things but will have to wait tell FMLA is availble for me. Dang it , it would be nice to walk but can't due to the thing yesterday. So many sad things have happened to our WLS family. I fell for all of you in your loss. I hope everyone has a good day. Lisa B

Jessyca, When I had my pre-op testing done, it seems like it was an all day thing. The worse part of it for me was the barium test. Fortunately, it doesn't last long. The breathing thing is blowing in a tube. Every test is to ensure that you have a healthy surgery. Remember that for many of us, by the time we decided to have WLS, our poor bodies were are already in horrible shape. Our lungs had to work extra hard to supply air. Our heart had to beat even harder to get the blood through all the veins with all the fatty tissue in the way. I could go on & on...our joints, our reproductive system, ect. The tests that you have pre-op lets the surgeon know if there are any problems that need to be corrected first. Look at the pre-op testing as a very, very good thing. BTW...welcome to the boards!! Good morning everyone, or goodnight for me since I just got home from work and will be going to bed in just a few minutes. I have not even started my Christmas shopping yet. I hate the thought of it. Linda I will probably be in Terre Haute this weekend to do my Christmas shopping. I am only about 45 min away from Terre Haute and we usually go to Terre Haute at least once every other weekend. This weekend we more than likely will be there to do some Christmas shopping since I am off this weekend. The only place we have here to shop is Wal-mart and I like going to K-Mart and Toys R Us. Since we are so close maybe some weekend we can meet. Kylie

Santa took me shopping and I got some clothes that you guys haven't worn first!!! I think this is the first new clothes since surgery.. YEA ME!!! and what am I wearing today at work??? Hoosier Loser pants and sweater... go figure.. ya just get attached to you people.. even your hand me downs!! Enjoy the warm day... every day it is warm it is one less COLD one.. Linda

Good morning everyone! I havent been on much, just crazy stuff going on with Dad, school and working. Plus all the holiday time obligated appearances, and I am one tired girl! Today however, I plan on not even leaving my house, and I'm pretty excited about that. I was supposed to work this evening and had planned on stopping by St V to see Gail before hand, but since hubby had some car issues yesterday, we're back to one car *sighs* AGAIN. He was turning into the bank and pop! the entire WHEEL fell off the passenger side. Thank God he was at a slow speed and where he was. If he'd been on the interstate, I dont even want to think about what would have happened. So now the car sits in the shop with over $1100 worth of damage to it. Thankfully school and my second job are only like three or four miles from the house so I can walk when I have to go. Chris is upset because once again before Christmas something has happened and now he's unable to get me anything, as the tow bill and just to get the car "Driveable" (meaning we can bring it home and then drive it back for the next repair when we have the money) will take his entire paycheck. Something always seems to happen right before Christmas every year we've been together. I told him I'm not upset about it, but he still is. So for today, its laundry and carpet shampooing for me!

Good morning everyone!! I'm up early so I can go to my grandson's 'family day'. He's in K. His Christmas program is Friday, but Bill (dh) has eye surgery during then, so I'm not going to be able to make that. I have my Christmas shopping pretty much done. Yeah! I'm still waiting for some of my internet shopping to arrive though. It has a few days yet. Just a little more wrapping and I'll be done with that as well. You all have a good day today. Remember to have your own moment of silence for Mary today, if you aren't able to attend her funeral. I really feel like we have our own guardian angel in Heaven now. Sherri

Good morning all! The week is winding down. I'm almost finished with my Christmas shopping. Just a couple of things for the grandkids and that's it. My DH is going deer hunting this weekend and I'm going to spend the weekend with my mom and sister. That will leave our house for my son and d-i-l to use as a bed & breakfast for the weekend. Sort of a homecoming present. My son just returned from 2 years in Korea. I'm looking forward to some down time. Our house was on the Magic of Christmas home tour last weekend so the biggest stress of the holidays is already behind me. Take care and enjoy the ones around you today. Annette
