Gail is ...
Thanks Angie, I sure hope they can figure somethng out to make her feel better! It doesn't seem as if she is getting very much information from them, hopefully she will be a little more forward and let them know she is tired of this going on and that some more tests are done! We will all have to leave a path so "RUDOLPH" can find her! LOL!!! I hope she is better soon.Hugz Dawn
Oh Dawn, I am so sorry to her that Gail is still not on the mend and is returning to St. V's again.
But she is in the best place. She said before that she felt better when they were giving her fluids and potassium. She is still in my prayers. I had pre-op testing and nut class for the last two days. That all made it feel so much more real for me and know that my time is getting closer. I am nervous, excited, scared, and excited. Sound familiar??? Twelve days and counting. Gail is in my prayers. Thanks for keeping us informed. Karen

Karen, Thanks for keeping her in your thoughts and prayers, she needs them and appreciates them!
Yes, all of those emotions sounds all so familiar. Even being a year out now, seems so unreal, but still can remember all of those emotions, vividly!!! You are on your way to an amazing journey, be sure to keep asking ???'s as they come up, that is what we are all here for. Will be thinking of you, and wishing you well on your journey! Hugz Dawn
Thanks Linda, I will let her know!
I agree, unfortunately, I think she has had her share of bumps, I too, didn't have any, due to the surgery. I just wish noone had to go through this, but unfortunately that isn't the case! Just hope that everyone new to wls realizes this is just one incident and that there are several that have no complications, and don't get too scared, just know that it CAN happen, but doesn't mean it WILL happen!
How's the new baby??? We want to see pix's! Hugz Dawn
Dawn,
Thank you for letting us know. How is Gail's incision doing now? Is it closed up any better? When I talked to her the other day, I was thinking that she probably was dehydrated. That's easy to do when you're nauseated..and the more dehydrated you are, the more nauseated you become. It's a vicious cycle. I hope that with getting her re-hydrated & her pottasium levels back in the normal range, that she will no longer be experiencing the nausea and be able to start drinking her fluids.
I also hope that Gail's experience doesn't scare the bejesus out of newbies. It isn't 'normal' to experience the problems she's having...but yet, it does boldly underline why WLS is not a quick fix and should never be considered as such. While complications aren't the norm, they can and do happen. Statistically, newbies won't have any...but they should be aware that they are always a possibility. Very rarely, like Gail's...but more often, a stricture just needing vibrated back open with an endo. It's like the old saying 'Prepare for the worst, Hope for the best'.
Thanks again for keeping us informed.....
Sherri
