I'm so sorry for lurking so much. I guess I just can't deal with everything that has been on my plate lately so I just lurk. I will try to post more often.

Thanx for the invite Tweety- it can be a little daunting, so many of you seem to have pretty tight friendships going. What can I say, I can be a woosy IRL too I recently switched employers to be able to have surgery... it looks like I'll be having it in June- though they only cover 50%- it's 50% more than my previous 2 employers (what can I say, I like variety and change jobs often ). I really appreciate all of you- and learn something everytime I'm on here- you all keep me motivated to continue the work that will eventually lead me to my own "surgiversay". BTW- I'm looking for a surgeon that does Lap DS- anyone know of one? Kirsten

I do believe that you are talking about the switch right? I know that Dr Inman does the switch but not sure if she does lap or open. I had an open RNY and was totally happy with it. I have done well and am now having a great healthy pregnancy. (I had my surgery back in May of 2004) I have only gained a little over 10 pounds and am 6 months pregnant. So I can honestly say that I have complete confidence in Dr Inman. I believe she is the best! Maybe someone else can chime in on it.

i was told that dr inman is about the only surgeon in the state that does DS. My friend had it with her almost a year ago now, and is doing very well, but from what I understand, it is ALWAYS an open proceedure. You should go to the consult and find out for sure though, as I had lap RYN.
