Hello everyone. I wanted to give you an update. I am 2 weeks out and I've learned alot about what to eat/not to eat. I am having a problem getting a protein to agree with me. At first I liked the Carnation with milk & protein mixed in but then it didn't agree with me. I really liked the Profect but it is so expensive so I've now found that by mixing my vanilla protein with orange Crystal Light it's not too bad. I think I still need to practice sipping water because I think I may be dehydrated. I just can't seem to get it all in throughout the day. I have been feeling pretty well and even braved the day after Thanksgiving shopping day for a few hours, but I paid for it later that day. My basic food choices are: 1 oz. refried beans/cheese with 1 oz. baby food fruit for breakfast. 1 oz. turkey, chicken or ham with 1 oz. instant potatoes, and 1 oz. turkey, chicken or ham with 1 oz. baby food vegetables. Hopefully when I see the doctor tomorrow he will give me the thumbs up. Sometimes I'm so hungry I eat it all too fast so I'm going to have to slow it down alot. All food suggestions especially protein recipes are gladly welcome. I will be keeping Gail in my prayers and hopefully she will be back home soon. I hate to hear that she is having such a rough time. She is such a sweet lady. That's all for now. Regina

Glad to hear you are doing so well!! I think we would all agree that it is hard to get all the water down at first. Just keep at it and one day you will be surprised to get it all down. I did a ton of scrambled egg beaters the first few weeks. Also if you can try cottage cheese. I have lactose issues so it is out for me, but a lot of people have good luck with it. Keep up the good work!! Carmen

I am having problems getting protein I can tolerate too. So far just milk for drinkable protein. I have been able to get in about 10 oz of milk and 10 oz of water a day. I know that's not enough, but I can't take anymore right now without making my poor little tummy hurt. Linda

Hi, you might try making your jello with the ISOPURE, it is much better than drinking the plain isopure, or making protein popscicles, just a thought. I personally loved the cottage cheese,,mmmmm! Hugz Dawn

i have spent a small fortune on protein that was not worth giving to my dogs, they would even stick their nose up at it....milk will always work as well....uck to the baby foods....maybe bananas but other wise no thanks, i was a cottage cheese, and egg eater forever.... at GNC i did find a powder soy based and now i was able to live with that....

I'm a big fan of the No Sugar Added Carnation Instant Breakfast in some soy or Lactaid milk. I try to do that for breakfast, then drink 2 Profects throughout the day. I know the Profect is expensive but it is worth it to me to get my protein in, esp. when it is only 3 oz. That reminds me I need to drink one now Sam

Sam - I have not had my surgery yet, but I am gaining so much info from you all. I have seen the Profect advertised in the magazine and on the OH board. Where do you get yours? Have you found a cheap place? Thanks for the info. Karen

Karen I had a hard time getting my protein in the first week then after that I would drink 3 profects a day then after about 2 I was able to add one Adkins Chocolate drink to that. I still do that today. The best price Ive found on Profect is on Ubid.com. I get my Adkins in lg cases at Sams Club. I hope this helps Mariah

Thanks girls for all the info. I'm going to try the suggestions you've given me and see what happens. I went for my 2 week follow up today and have already lost 15 lbs. I wonder if it's a little too early for french onion soup? Regina
