Hump Day
Good morning Hoosier Loosers (and soon to be loosers...and any of our non-hoosier friends!)!!
Darrah, I know today is going to seem like the longest day you have ever had to go through. If your dad can come off the ventilator and live a long & healthy life and watch his granddaughter grow up, that is what I wish for. However the day turns out however, my concerns are with you. Take care of yourself hon. Get plenty of rest anf don't overdo it physically or emotionally. Now is a time to let your hubby & brother step in and do for you.
I had my first follow-up appointment with the foot surgeon yesterday. I was very glad I took my pain meds before going. It was my first time seeing my foot post-op. I think there's about 20 stitches and he removed a few of them. The wire was kinda a scary sight. I guess I didn't expect the guage to be so thick or it to be so big. I guess it has to be in order to hold 2 bones together, but it was still scary to look at. There wasn't any bleeding, and very little swelling. He put on a few butterfly strips because of him removing some of the stitches. He also put a rubber cap over the end of the wire. He then bandaged it back up real good. The whole process hurt like a dickens. I ended up back in bed the rest of the day with it propped up, ices, and watching the clock to take the tylenol w/codiene every 4 hours! I woke up to it hurting this morning but I'm really hoping that today will be a better day than yesterday was.
Next Tuesday, I go back just so he can change the bandage. I'm betting he will remove a few more stitches so I'll be pre-med'ing again. The following Tuesday, it's expected for the wire to be removed. Hope so anyway. Alot of my pain has been coming from it, I think. I'm trying not to think about what it will be like to have it pulled out and just think about how much better it will feel without it in there. In the meantime, I'm to keep it iced & elevated. Still no showers, hot tub's or tanning bed. Since I'm still on the pain meds, no driving either. Between Tiffany and Bill's Mom though, we've been kept in carry-out pretty well. lol. Bill has been an angel taking care of me.

Hi Everyone,
We are going to the mall to "window shop" today & WALK!!! I tried on a couple of dresses given to me to use for the St.V's Christmas Party- one is tight in the bust,( formfitted 14) & the other( 16) fits well.I guess my "girls" are just hanging out-ha!!!! Just have to get accessories & shoes for it. I still fight what I look like in the mirror- after losing 115# I think-" That can't be me".
Darrah,
Hon, I know just what you are going thru( had to do the same with both parents & grandma) Please know we all are thinking of you, & praying for your family. PM. me, if you need a shoulder to cry on, or just to talk.
Sherri,

So far he's off pain meds and the ventillator. So that part looks good. No way to know the extent of brain damage he'll have... he thought there was a bear in the room, and is asking for a cigarette (sighs).
My next baby dr appt is Dec 4th, when we'll have some more ultrasound taken. Hopefully some good face pictures this time. I just can't wait for March!
