Brand new and looking for support and advise

Hi, my name is Julia and I just recieved my surgery date for 12/05/06, I am so excited and scared all at the same time...I just want to hear from others on how that felt and that they would do it again. I know I am blessed to have the opportunity to have this surgery. I am just a little nervous! Thank you! Julia

ahhhhh you came to the right place.....where will you be having your surgery? and who is the surgeon? i would do it again in a heart beat.............my husband who had an ulcer and spent off and on 3 months in the hosp after..would do it again...he says he is glad he had the surgery and tells people he would do it again as well....

WE LOVE talking about our surgeries... You show me your scar Ill show you mine... I would do it again tomorrow.. It wasnt easy.. it is a tough first 6 weeks.. getting used to the whole little tummy but It was WORTH it!! Milk is my friend... couldnt handle the protien drinks so I drank M ILK AND ATE STRINGCHEESE. Its ok to be worried but not scared to death... Support? You came tot he right place!! Linda

Julie, Welcome to the board. I think WLS is a decision you won't regret. I had a few complications and I know that personally, I would do it all again without a second thought. Sherri

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery. I had surgery on 9/15, and I am already down a little over 40 pounds. It is such a great feeling to be losing weight. I feel awesome being caffeine and sugar-free. I would have never thought that in a million years. You certainly came to the right place for support and encouragement. All of us are at different places in our journeys, and we can give you a lot of different perspectives. You are very blessed! It is normal to be nervous--not only about the surgery but the changes that will follow. This will be one of the most exciting times of your life!!
