Vitamins
I have been a little overwhelmed by what vitamins to take and there are so many different brands/tastes out there. Is it best to get all chewables? I just need to know what are the best ones to take and where to get them. What is everyone else taking? I know I need multi-vitamins, calcium citrate, sublingual B-12, regular B's, and iron. Any reviews on the Bariatric Advantage brand? I'm just needing to get these before my surgery on Monday and after going to the store I was overwhelmed with all the choices. Just need to know what are the best ones to be taking that aren't outrageously expensive.

I hear yah, there are so many different brands, types, strength's, etc!
I haven't tried the Bariatric Advantage but my labs have always been excellent so I'll tell what I take.
Multi- CVS brand Chewable Spectravite
Calcium- Citrical brand Calcium Citrrate Petites (small, easy to swallow)
B12- Solaray brand by the Vitamin Shop, 2000 mcg Sublingual
Biotin- Solaray brand by the Vitamin Shop, 1000 mcg Sublingual
I do have any recommendations on the Iron, I personall don't have to take Iron but I'm sure someone else will give you a good recommendation! One thing to remember, as if you need something else
, you can't take your multi and your calcium at the same time because your body wont absord the calcuim. So I take mine later in the day.
Best of luck!!

Here is what I take. I haven't had labs done yet so I don't know how well they are doing for me yet
3 Childrens Chewables Complete (the generic version of Flintstones from Sam's Club)
1 Fiber Choice chewable tablet
2 B-12 Sublinguals (go under your tongue and dissolve)
1 B1 (smells and tastes nasty! I just cut it into 4 pieces and swallow them.)
3 Citrical Creamy Chews in Lemon (kind of like a small brownie/cookie. Also come in Carmel and chocolate)
I think thats about it.

Thanks, I was wondering about cutting them up. I will have to get a pill splitter. Do I need to watch how much sugar is in the multi-vitamins? I read on my daughter's bottle there was sugar in them, is that a bad thing? The Citracal creamy chews sound pretty good. I will have to put them on my list to get at WalMart. Thanks again for the info.

i also take flax seed, it is, the omega 3, some take fish oil....and i also take the biotin..for hair and nails, at one point i had to add folic acid, but i no longer take it...ed takes iron due to so much blood that was given to him the first of the year...since i am so old i have not had to take any iron....i did the first 6 months but i have been fine without it....
When I was a newbie, I took GNC liquid multi.. it had a cranberry base and wasnt that bad tasteing.. then about 6 months out I changed to CVS senorvite. a bigger pill I just split, I take calcium citrate, always have and biotin, b-1 and my b-`12 sublingual. Pill cutters are a must later when you are actually taking pills.. Dr Cacucci said my vitiamins were coming out whole until I proved to her that I could split the pill and put it in an ounce of water and it would dissolve within 5 minutes.
The hair stayed the nails GREW... amd my tests have come back good.

Here's what I take:
2 fintstones complete (which actually have more iron in them than the tron ones, go figure)
Liquid B- complex by spring valley (available at walmart). this has b-12 and b-1, and some other b's, so i dont have to take the b-1 pill, which as Sam said, is ultra super nasty. twice a wekk on that one
lemon flavor citracal chewables
biotin
thats all the surgery related stuff. i usually take 3 flintstones, but due to baby, they have me taking only 2 so i dont get an OD on vitamin A.
