Deedee' Please just hang in there. I too went through the same feelings. I was so sick after the surgery and I honestly did not think I would be the one to be sick. I had, had enough. I did go back to my doctor and asked him about having it reversed. He asked me to just hang in there and trust him. I am pretty sure everyone mourns the loss of their "friend". By saying that I mean comfort foods. I am almost 6 months out and I still want certain things but know better. Try to give yourself some time and hopefully your feeling about the surgery will change. You have to remember why you did this. You did it for yourself!!! You want to feel better and if you were on any meds you want to be able to get off of them. I will be the first to admit, this is not going to be easy at first but I can honestly say "I do not rregret having the surgery now. Please call your doctor, the nurse, the dietician, etc and explain to them what is going on. They will do everything in their power to you. If you need to talk and would like to e-mail me please feel free to do so. Good Luck and my prayers are with you. Dawn

Deedee, I saw someone suggested medication for depression. My suggestion would be to find a counselor or psychologist, who can help you through this time. They would be able to talk to you and help you work through your thoughts, to see if you really do want a revision. They could be a good support through this whether you do that or not. Linda

DeeDee, I have not had the surgery yet, so I don't completely understand your feeling. I can say I have a lot of friends that have had the surgery and they have went through the same thing. I was told to have this surgery 3 years ago. My doctor told me it was either bariatric surgery or a very strict and drastic doctor monitored weight loss program. I chose the program rather than the surgery. This program was 800 calories a day and it was ONLY MEAL REPLACEMENTS, no conventional grocery store food. I'm telling you this because I stuck to it and I lost 45 lbs and I was SO proud of myself. But you know, I had a lot of mental breakdowns. My food was taken away and while I had the choice to eat regular food because I did not have a physical impediment, I still didn't have my food. I cried, I got put on antidepressants, I remember sitting in the kitchen floor beating the floor with a coat hanger because I couldn't have pizza. What I'm trying to say is, these feelings that you're having are still going to be there if you do it the "conventional" way. Bottom line, MOST of us use food as a drug, a comfort. That's how we got where we are, and the only way to be healthy is to learn how to manage that drug or comfort effectively. I would recommend therapy as well as anti depressants. I've already started seeing a therapist to start to deal with these issues before I have the surgery. Remember it took you longer than a week to get the approval and work towards the surgery. You weighed the counsequences, the ups the downs, let it take more than a week for you to decide to get the reversal. These things that you're feeling are going to need to be dealt with either way, with or without the surgery, in order for you to overcome and be healthy. I'm here if you need to talk to me!!! Just email me. Jessyca
