My 1st. YEAR!

One year ago I walked into St. V's using a cane & in alot of pain.That all changed - some things slower than others- but my life has definatley improved for the better!!! I had my Lap RUNY with Dr. Inman. I have had only one complication & that was 'cause I didn't need the Lovenox shots. I have to personally say- Dr. Inman is the best!!!! Today, I walked down the halls in the Hospital & said a prayer for all those who came before me, & those traveling on this journey. Talk about an amazing year- down 115# (2 from my Drs. goal) off 11 medications, 35" off of my body, and energy that I thought I'd never possess. I can walk for 1-1/2 to 2 hrs. without taking a break, & feel 20 yrs. younger ( my hubby says I look it, too****ep up with my grandkids, can sit on the floor, & do things I never thought possible. I remind myself every day this is a tool, & if I don't follow the food sheets, drink my fluids, walk, get my food/protien in, it won't work. I am so grateful to all my "buddies" on here- for your support, encouragement, & friendship. You are the best!!!!! (((hugs))) Ellen

Congratulations! You look beautiful Thanks for the reminder that this is just a tool, and for those of us still trying to get the surgery done- getting insurance approval is the beginning- not the end of the journey. Yep you look alot better but then the best part of it is you are going to live longer and be around to support so many more people who are coming adter.. and taken from experience... there is nothing better than getting to get down and play with those grandbabies!!! Linda

Ellen, Happy surgiversary! You have done an amazing job! You look beautiful and have so much to be proud of! I am heading in for my 1 year, coming up in November, so I can agree with you that the rewards and changes of the past year have been tremendous/awesome. CONGRATULATIONS, ELLEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!!! I am soooo proud of you!!!!!!! :) I am seven mons postop, had a few complications in the beggining, but doing wonderful now!! You really touched my heart when you said that you went down the hallway praying for people that went before you and after!!! What a witness that is!!!! Continue the wonderful use of your tool!!
