Help me... Answers for a pre-op

Alright fello Hoosiers, I was asked by a relative to speak with her friend who is getting ready for surgery Nov 14th at St. V's, so I did. This person had ask me if I knew of any support groups offered through St. V that are closer to her-- Terre Haute, Sullivan area, any ideas from all of you St. V post oppers???? I did of course tell her about us and the Indiana board and to join the Nov 06 forum here as well, by the way, her Dr. is Dr. Caccucci (sp). Thanks for any info, I will pass it on!! Hugz Dawn

Hello! I'm from Terre Haute. I don't know of any support groups in this area. I wish they had one. I would love to get hooked up with your friend if she's in TH, as we are only one week apart for surgery dates. Maybe we could share rides to the support group meetings in Indy. Linda

Dawn, With her being pre-op, I take it that this is for the required pre-op support. My dad lives in Clinton and also had to take St. V's support group sessions so he went to the ones on the West side. I think he hopped on 36E and it was ~an hour drive each way. Post-op, the Terre Haute public library was hosting support meetings. I don't know if they still do or not. These aren't affiliated with St. V's so can't be used instead, but would be good for post-ops to be able to continue support locally. Sherri
