Out of lurking status
Hi, I have decided it is time for me to come out of lurking. I found this website over a year ago and I think I have been on reading everything at least weekly if not daily. I just wanted to thank everyone for their help even when you didn't know you were helping. I've had my surgeon consult and almost have everything ready to turn into my insurance. I have 2 more suport group meetings to attend before I can send everything in. I plan on having them done by next week!
Welcome Cheryl,
Please feel free to jump in and be a part of our board! This really is a great group of folks! I am so happy for you that you are getting everything lined up to begin your new journey! It is an awesome journey! I wish you the best! I am not sure where exactlly you are from, or how far away it is, but we are having a clothing exchange on the 7th of Oct. if you would like to come and meet some of us and get some new goodies, please feel free! We love to meet each other and see each others accomplishments! It is great socializing!
Have a great night! Hugz Dawn
I agree, the next step you need is a visit to the clothing exchange so you can meet some of these wonderful people face to face!!the greatest supportsystem and you don't often have to leave the comfort of your computer!!!
I do hope others dont feel they have to get their ducks in a row before they join us.. we are getting pretty good at lining up ducks.. and actually make the wait seem bearable!
Welcome to the journey.. dont expect smooth sailing but believe me it is worth the trip!
Best, Linda
Columbia City! Been there a few times! We have a cottage in Monticello so it's kind of on the way. Do try to make it to the clothing exchange if you can! It's a great opportunity. I went when I was pre-op in May and it was great to see first hand how people look, how they eat etc. I also went to the one in July when I was 3 days away from surgery and got so much support. This is my first one post-op and I can't wait. Please try to come, you won't regret it!!
Good Luck with the insurance battle ahead! It's the hardest part.
