My sister, Mary Brown of Huntingburg is finally joining the loosers bench today. She has her surgery in Louisville with Dr David Geller. Her surgery is at 1:30 Central time. I forgot to have her add her date to her profile so people could sign her surgery page, but oh well no big deal. In lieu of that could you post here to wish her well then I can e-mail this to her. The proud baby sister, Chris

Dawn, thank you for taking the time to reply. Mary is doing well, I just got off the phone with her husband about 15 minutes ago and I also talked with her daughter and son in law and she is doing fine. The doctor was able to do her surgery lap and she should be out of the hospital in two days. Chris

Mariah, thank you for posting. I talked with her kids and husband last night and she is doing well. She should only be in the hospital 2 days. Wow, that is a fast turn around. I was in for 3 1/2 days with open. But I had a little problem with my potassium levels and could not tolerate the oral meds. They had to hook me back up to an IV and they kept me one more night. Chris, At St V if u have the Lap instead of the open they want to send u home the next day. If all is going well. I begged them to stay one more night but I wasnt even there 48 hrs. I lived so far from St V that I was afraid to go home the day after surgery but I know Sam was only in 1 day and they sent her home. I ended up not having any problems but no hospital in my area does gbs so I was afraid I couldnt get help fast enough if I did need help. Thank God that I didnt. Mariah

Mariah, thanks again for taking the time to respond. I am sure that she will do fine as she has a good doctor and she has a smart head on her shoulders and she is not afraid to pick up a phone and ask for help. Chris
