had my pre-op testing

Went for my pre-op testing yesterday, very interresting, and long. The white stuff you have to drink for the upper GI is yuck. I can not wait it is coming soon, and fast, next tuesday I have my nutritional class on tuesday, anyone else going to be there? also did you know you are only out of work for 3 weeks after surgery. WOW just found that out today too.

Tracy if u are doing good they will even let u go back in 2 weeks...but I took off 5 just for the vacation...not that I needed to go back... Just wanted to enjoy the summer off of work. Would have been much different if I would have had surgery in Jan...would have went back after the 2 weeks. Mariah

Mariah, thank you for your response,see the ladies here at work was off for 6 weeks, but they had an open RNY. It's nice you can heel that fast. I might take a little extra off to. I guess it depends on how I am feeling. Does anyone go to the Clarion support groups on Wed? I would really like to meet some of you, I wish I did not have school on Tuesday and I could come to our,(St V's) support groups.

Hi Tracey, I will be at the nutritional class on Tues 26th. How exciting; I finally get to meet someone from the board. My surgery is scheduled for Oct 9th!! See you Tues. Blessings, Shawna

I lucked out and didnt have to have an upper GI,... I had just had a scope to figure out a different problem I told Dr Mccune to look good and make a good report because I was having my stomach cut off!! Dr C accepted the scope and I scheduled my surgery!! and post surgery you dont have to drink barium again... it is crystal light with dye in it!!! Linda
