Just checking in...
hi everyone,
I had my 9 month checkup, down 113 lbs. I have an appt to see an OBGYN to decide/talk about hysterectomy on Thurs. we shall see... I have also been seen by a neurologist, I have been in quite a bit of pain lately, he says the MRI shows arthritis and also believes that I have bursitis, I was wondering if anyone else has experienced any thing like this since wls, I was not in pain prior and I am having a hard time understanding how I can be so uncomfortable after losing this much weight and hardly able to get around or sleep at night, any suggestions, ideas or experiences? Just thought I would check with my wls family!
Also, I am FREEZING!!!! Was wondering if anyone has any fall/winter sweaters, jackets available, I am in a 22-24 or 1-2x currently, last years was a 5x so even though it was a great wow to see the change it doesn't work for the warmth, anyone have anything let me know, I am planning on attending the clothing exchange as long as I am not in too much pain, if someone has something and cannot make it to the exchange let me know, I can make arrangements! Thanks everyone !
Have a great night!!!
Going to put on the flannel jammies, hubby won't let me turn on the heat!!!
ELECTRIC BLANKET is #1 on my Christmas list this year!!! I hope to get it... I have been a good girl!!! LOL

Freezing is the side effect of this weight loss... at least I didnt have to get many summer clothes... I was to cold to wear them often.. at least the airconditioning was kept low...didnt have to use it often..
I personally am looking for 16;s for me and 32's for my DIL...After the triplets her body hasnt snapped back into place yet..
I have osteo arthritis and even though the pressure on my joints was lessoned by the weight loss the damage I had already done pre surgery was still there. I had my knee replaced in Feb (thank God) and still having a little trouble with the new one.. I also have fibromilagia.. that makes all your joints and muscles ache.. Shock to the body creates strange things.. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Dawn,
I was having the worst hip pain ever and thought it was arthritis. I went to my PCP and he sent me to an orthopedic surgeon. After all the tests and x-rays, he told me that it's bursitis. He said he has had several wls patients with this trouble. The lubrication around the joints is not being produced right now. His theory is that like hair and nails your body sees it as a nonessential right now and stops making it for awhile. From the weight loss and all. He said when my weight stabilizes the pain should lesson. He did give me some steroid shots and PT. They both helped and I can still exercise. I have the most pain at night in bed. Or anytime I need to spread my legs open wide! LOL He did give me a script for pain meds and I must say I have had to break down and take a few at night. I hope you are over the pain soon and that things go well with the GYN.
Sweaters, yes I have several!!! I will be at the exchange, but if you need them sooner you know were I live. Oh I love flannel jammies in the winter! Sounds so peaceful.

Dawn,
I'll tell u what I love...thats a down comforter. They keep u so cozy and warm. I love mine. I have them on every bed in my house. U can usually get a good deal on them at qvc.com or at your local dept store. Get one with a high fill power and u will love it. Never have a cold night again. My next favorite is flannel sheets. I use those winter and summer.

Dawn,
Good luck at the GYN. I know that my hysterectomy was the best thing in the world for me! Dr. Feeny did mine (Community East) in 2003. My ovaries had shrunk to barely there so he left them...went up inside me to remove everything else so no outward incisions.
Although the doc had told me I could tan again 3 weeks ago, I did for a few days and then quit. I did again yesterday and enjoyed the warmth SO MUCH! With it getting colder out, I'm starting to look forward to getting back into the hot tub! Hmmm...Maybe another Tub & Tea is in order before I have the second surgery...??? I had bought some sweaters when they were on clearance this past spring but I will probably have to replace my coat.
Hubby would think I was mad at him if I came to bed with ANY pajama's/gown's on but I do keep a hoodie at the end of the bed for the nights I wake up freezing. He would never go for anything warm for blankets or sheets either. His deal would be more like cranking the furnace up AND turning on the fan 'for ventilaion'. And I wonder why I have the sniffles 9 months a year!
I haven't been told that I have arthritis or bursitis hon. Just my darn feet. Since loosing weight though, have noticed how the bottom of my breastbone isn't flat though. It pokes up. Really weird. I never think to ask the doctor about it.
Take care of yourself and great job on the weight loss!
