I wake up every morning feeling great, then I start my protein. It has made me sick both days I have tried it. I am talking extreme lactose intolerance. The bloating is killing my poor stomach!! Please help! Has anyone else experienced this??? Please call if you have time. 317-834-3565 or Cingular 317-308-0860. Other than this, I feel good, and haven't touched my Lortab in 24 hours. Everything was exceptional until I started the protein shakes.

Try some of the liquid protein drinks (iso pure) from GNC in the fruit flavors. I put mine over crushed Ice and it went down pretty good. Don't post your phone numbers on line. Please. To many nut cases out there.

If your dieticians agree, try soy milk. It is lactose free and has the fat grams in it that you need right now to help with healing. When I was first out from surgery, they didn't want me to watch fat intake. It will be ok......don't forget gas-x! Also, like stated above, please take your phone numbers off of here....it is very dangerous in today's world...for your sake!

Melanie, I too had terrible lactose issues when I first came home. I tried tons of different types of Protein and the only one that didn't make me sick was the Protidiet. It is a gel that comes in a small pouch. You mix it with water. I like the tropical fruit the best, then the grape. I don't care for anything thick so this is very thin and can be diluted down or kept sweet. It has 15 grams of protein per serving and 70 cals. Now that I am further out I make up two at a time for 30 grams of Protein. I get it from the bariatric clinic on Southport and hwy 31. They are the only place I have found it locally. You can order it online, but it actually costs more! I hope you are feeling better soon! Carmen

HI Mel...remember me..Deb from the hospital. Im sorry to hear your protein is not agreeing with you. Went for my post op and dietary consult today. She said try isopure grape with a few ounces of juicy juice grape juice in it, it cuts the protein taste. Got my drain pulled today-not so bad. Hope all is well with you otherwise.
