First of all, Gail I am so happy that you got approved!!! Maybe the next person to post an approval, will be me!! Lets all pray... Amen. Second of all, I spoke with Aetna, and they said "We have recieved your 47 page appeal, and should be reviewed within 30 days." Well, lets hope that its sooner than that. I am so ready to begin this, and I am so worried that I will be denied again. I dont have the energy to fight them, but I will. I did find out if I get denied this time, then I have one more appeal, and I can not apply for the service again. I dont know what I will do if I get denied two more times. I will get a lawyer, but I really dont have the money for that right now. Anyone know of a pro bono laywer who will take on an insurance company for me? LOL Third of all, there is a job that came open at work. This job I have waited for for a very long time. It would be a perfect postion for me. The only drawback is, its in Seattle Washington. 2500 miles away from my family, my friends, and most of all, my suregon. I dont know if I should put the surgery on hold and go for this job, or if I should stay the course with the surgery, and wait for the job to come open again. I am so confused!! Well, I think thats bout all I got, any feedback on all of the above would be apprieciated. S.

Scott, Sorry for the denial process you are having to go through but hang in there I will pray that you get approved. I was fortunate I was approved within 2 weeks after my information was sent. I have SIHO As for the job, I can relate however the position was with my same employer just a different department and it would be less hourse so I would then loose my insurance. As much as I wanted a change in jobs I was already approved my surgery and I knew there would always be another job opening but I was not sure there would be a long time future for myself if I didn't stick with getting the surgery done. Granted I do not have many medical problems at the moment, just high blood pressure, severe back pain and knee pain but I have a strong family history of heart disease, blood pressure, diabetes and my father is now on Dialysis and I just did not want to get to that point. So just look at "long term" you get an extra 30yrs of life and how many jobs will open by then? Anyways hope the information helps and best of luck and God Bless. Donna

I grew up in Washington, so I am prolly a little biased. I can say that if there was an opneing I had wanted there, I'd already be packed. But then, I'm post op. There are always other jobs, but there are other surgeons as well. Have you looked to see if there is a hospital near Seattle that is a Center of Excellence that's in network for you? I would say to explore both options. Just because you decide on one or the other doesn't count you out from eventually having both! Good luck!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you Scott on the appeal! As for the job, how soon do you have to decide to apply? If you have a while, I would wait to see the result of the appeal and then go from there. You will be in my thoughts!! Sam
