Hello all. I'm new here, but not new to the feelings or the trials that brought me here. My surgery date is scheduled for October 24th and I look forward to it with some apprehension, as is to be expected. I came here on the advice of a friend and I look forward to meeting many of you and not only using you for support, but for offering my own. I'm working on playing with my profile and homepage here, so fill free to check in whenever and comment. I have a friend online that will be hosting a pic of me soon, so my face will be up for all to see in a bit. . .not sure I'm ready for the big pic of me, yet. . . damn that being sensitive thing I have.

Hi, very cool. . .I am scheduled to have it in Carmel Indiana, with Dr. Margaret Inman. I live in Albion, my husband works in Butler, and my family is scattered in Kendallville, Auburn, and Avilla, not to mention several other little Indiana towns around here. I'll look at my schedule. It would be nice to meet others who are going through this or have gone through it. I know personally some online friends, but only one person who has had it done, and she's more an aquaintance of mine because she is a friend of my mom's.

St. V's is a wonderful facility! I had my surgery there with Dr. Cacucci. A good friend of mine had her doudnal switch with Dr. Inman in December and is doing well. I told my husband, had I been able to fit that hospital bed in my pocket and took it home I would have! So comfy! Good luck to you!

Great! Thanks for the info. . .*thinks about bring a U-haul for the bed* :-)I was impressed by the facility when my husband and I went there. I am excited about the upcoming surgery and the life changes, though I know they won't be a ride in the park. I am so committed to this. :-)

I have a feeling I'll love it here. :-) I am still working on getting a pic of me in the profile. My friend hosted this one, but when I try to upload it here it is blown up to a huge size and is blurry. Here is my face though: http://www.therogueairmen.com/images/red/deanna_face.JPG The idea of a clothing exchange is a cool one! Smart. Fun. Economical. :-D
