I NEED HELP

well I called the insurance today and they said they approved the surgery and I will be getting a letter in the mail, I then can call to get an appointment for my surgery. but, before I have the surgery I have to do 3 support groups and they are all on tuesdays and I have class that night. any suggestions?

Hi Tracey, I live in Thorntown so we are neighbors! There is a Wed. night SG meeting in Speedway at the Library there. Go to the website for St. Vincents & it will give you more info. I know there are ones at Clarian also, though I have never attended them, a friend of mine has. I think they may have one on Mon. night. I had to go to 10 before my Ins. would let me have surgery. I went to the sight and did not see the speedway library one, I will have to double check, that will be nice. I am having my surgery at St Vincents Carmel, do you think it will be ok to attend a support group from clarion?

The Speedway one is the third TEU of the month.. that is the one I go to.. sorry.. I dont know of any Wed night ones Linda

Clarion Support Groups are on the first & third wednesdays of the month. They are open to the public. You can get a paper signed by the leaders to state that you were there. WOuld that work for you?

Tracey, St V's has a support meeting on the 4th Wed of the month from 3:30-5 in suite 255 for pre & post-ops. If that time isn't good for you, contact Linda in the dietician's office and ask her if it would be okay for you to attend the NewBee meetings. They are for the first 8 weeks out post-ops. They also take place on the 4th Wed of the month from 6:30-7:30 in suite 168. Before going to Clarion, I would check and be sure your insurance would accept that since it isn't the place you are going for your surgery. Sherri

All of the support groups are for the patients..the ones who need the support. Often, St. V's has a guest speaker. Sometimes, surgeons from St. V's may be the guest of honor and other times an exercise guru, or what-ever. I found the most interesting one to be when Dr. Inman came and spoke. Sherri
