One day closer to Friday, hooray! I'm glad for the reduced work schedule, as between working so much and caring for my dad, it hasn't left much time to care for myself. Oh, if any of you shop at the greenwood walmart, you should know that their bakery/deli section has been the cause of a salmonella outbreak. My step sister is currently in the hospital due to some pumpernickel bread I bought there. Apparently they have moved the employees who work there to other sections of the store, and the store has been sterilized. Still.... I remember BUYING the bread and had decided to but a 1/4 of turkey as well. I had commented to my husband about how they just had hunks of meat laying around on the slicers and how that was not a good idea, and changed my mind about the turkey. I don't know that it is what CAUSED the salmonella, but it's enough to keep me from buying bakery or deli products there. Also makes me good to know that I'm not being paranoid, just safe. Thank God for my food safety training . Well, time to hip hop into the shower and get this day started! Have a wonderful day everyone, hope everyone is feeling well/better for you sickies!

Morning Everyone, I went to dr yesterday. Im doing fine. BP is at an all time low. No problems with my food, water, vitamins and or protein. However I did get majorly depressed at my weight. I had been going all this time by the wt I was on the day of admission to the hospital and they are going by the wt I was at my first seminar/apt I ever had there. Well I gained a small ton on all my last suppers(10 more lbs)....LOL Also their scale wt me 10 lbs more than mine here at home did. She tried to make me feel better saying I had alot of clothes on, heavy shoes and that when I wt at home I havent eaten for the day. All of that was right but Im sure my clothes didnt wt 10 lbs. So I guess I need to get a new scale thats more accurate or if I go to get one and its weighting the same as this one I have I'll just think its theirs thats wrong...LOL Either way Im still loosing plenty of wt. Never lost 50 lbs before in 6 weeks . Plus the wt. I lost the first week. I go back in another 6 weeks. It was correct that they only wt and measure every 6 months. I asked for my measurements and was pretty disappointed that they would only give me my chest, waist and hip measurements. The day they measured me the lady measured everypart of my body...neck, arms, thighs and all. So now I dont really have a lot to compare but more than I started with I guess. Now I need to find a measuring tape and see how many inches Ive lost. She did email me my before pics. They are very scary. I didnt know they would take pics that day....I didnt have contacts in or anything so its a scary site. I hate pics of myself with my glasses on. Come Jan when I change insurance Im going to get Lasic (sp) surgery done on my eyes so I dont have to wear glasses anymore. I wore contacts for about 20 yrs then I lost my vision in my left eye. I went back to glasses except for pictures I still put my contacts in and for formal functions, ect. Since I dont wear contacts everyday I got my vision back in my left eye...its still legally blind but with glasses I see great. Im hoping the eye surgery can fix most of my problems. Mariah

Good Morning! Darrah I am glad they figured out where the outbreak was coming from! I heard them talking about it on the news but they had never figured out where it was coming from. I'm real leary about buying meat from the deli for the same reason you don't know how long it has been sitting etc. Eric always wants Deli meat so I get it but I am content with just the packaged stuff! His mom used to work in a meat department at grocery store so he got spoiled. I love the pictures from the ultra sound! Did your husband go with you? I called my girlfriend who just had the baby last night and spent about an hour talking with her. It makes me want to be a mom so bad but lord knows now it not the right time! Mariah scales are the devil. I hate how they can control your day etc. Yet I can't stay off of mine. I'll be curious to see what their scale says on Friday. No matter what the number, I know my clothes are fitting better and I feel better so that's all that matter. I would love to have Lasik surgery as well. I can see up close but far away is hard. I have to wear glasses to drive. I don't have contacts because I can't stand the idea of my finger in my eyeball! Well now that I have rambled aimlessly. I am going to get to work. Hope everyone has a great day!! Sam

Morning everyone. I've been away for a few days. Just to busy to get on. This will be a short week and long weekend for me. The office is closed Thurs and Friday and Monday for Holiday weekend. I think I'll probably come in for a while on Thursday and work on some paper work and instrument calibrations that I haven't been able to get done in the hours when I'm open. It will be lonely with me being the only one in the office though. Mariah and Sam you are doing great. It's easy to say don't be obsessed with the scales but how can anyone stay off when the wt is comming off so fast. What a thrill. Mine has slowed to about 5 pounds a month now and I still get on the office scales each morning before I eat. My scales at home are worthless, it is hard to find good scales to accuratly measure over 200. Some Dr. offices scales are not accurate over 300 pounds. Darrah, that deli thing is scary. Glad you didn't get sick. We are spoiled. We have a great meat market and deli just 3 miles from us. (My son works there as a meat cutter) We won't buy our meat and cheese anywhere else. This is a family run market and one of the brothers( they had a family falling out) is now working in Carmel at Joe's meat and fish market. I'd recommend them to you all in that area. I stop there to visit Fritz when ever I go to St. V for checkups. It is only a little ove a mile from the hosp. Their prices are usually cheaper than that of most big stores so don't be afraid to check it out. Say Hi to Fritz Albright for me if you do.

Good morning everyone! Hope your day has been going good so far. Bill had a 4 hour appointment at Dr. Price's group yesterday. He asked me to go along in case there was any paperwork he needed me to fill out. There wasn't, but it was interesting anyway (for me..for my daughter & her hubby, it was boring in the waiting room that whole time). Ayway, they are planning on putting in an artificial cornea so that it won't fail. It has to be submitted to Anthem for pre-cert...and no insurance has approved the artificial cornea yet, so fingers are crossed. A cadaver cornea is ~$3000 and the artifical one is $6000 but Dr. Price's group hasn't had to remove any yet so no rejection? Well worth it! Bill has already had 3 failed cornea transplants in that eye. After that long day, my foot decided to play hell last night. Very restless & painful night! It is FINALLY calm this morning...well...LATE morning. Angie...I finally got a few of my plastic canvas pics on my picture trails (link on my profile). It'll give you an idea of how much fun it can be. The tree & skirt were done without a pattern so they were the most challengng...especially the tree. It was about 4' tall and 3 demensional. Most of the ornaments were 3-D too. Right now, I'm working on doing door banners for my MIL..one for each month. I have all of the sewing done for December. After I get all the sewing done, for these patterns, the pieces all get hot glue gunned in place. Darrah...great pics sweetie! I'm glad you have an appointment with the surgeon & dieticians set up. Was that Walmart the one on 31 South? Marriah & Sam...Great job on the weight loss! You all have a great day! Sherri
