Hello and Good Morni...

Hello and Good Morning! Had baby dr appt #2 yesterday. I've been kind of upset lately because I'm scared to death that I've already starved this poor baby to death. Until this week I had been doing really well with eating lots and getting all the nutrients on the pregnancy diet. This week the thought of eating just about ANYTHING makes me naueous. I've been eating, but not as well as I had been. My ob looked up some prenatal vitamins for me, and found a good one that eliminates me having to take all the bottles of vitamins I was taking, and I'll only have to take the prenatal, calcium, and b-12. That will be nice. They arent chewable, so I have to crush them up and take them with orange juice (yuk!). I asked about taking them with yogurt and was told that I wouldn't get some of the nutrients if I took it with yogurt, so she said OJ, and OJ it is I guess. I'm scared to death the the baby doesn't even have a heartbeat, so to ease my worried mind, she has ordered an ultrasound so I can see the heart beat. I'm a couple weeks shy of being able to hear the heartbeat, maybe a few more due to my size, so she said this way I should be able to see it and relax. Had my pap yesterday (ouchies) and everything else, blood drawn for all the tests and a couple extra. She's going to check the vitamin levels in my blood and see how things look. I imagine not good vitamin wise. But we shall see. I opted for the tests that could be done with only a blood sample from me, but told her I wasn't willing to do any tests that had a risk of miscarraige or ivaded the babys "personal space". That's about it for me! How is everyone else doing?

Happy Wednesday everyone! Darrah..I'm sure your little one is doing just fine. Lots of moms-to-be that have never had WLS spend the first 3 months paying homage to the great white godess, hoping to be able to keep down a saltine even. Since it's nausea and not vomiting, I'd sy you're doing better than many. With my daughter, I was every morning at 9..for 3 months. After that, I was fine. With my son, I was 24/7 for 2 weeks. I really thought I had some awful strain of flu. After that though, I was fine. Your nausea will pass. It's very normal sweetie. I have my first post-op appointment with my podiatrist this morning. I'll be glad to get this bandage changed. Something feels like it's pulling. Don't know if it's the bandage of the stitches. Guess I'll find out today. I'll also be getting a boot that I can wear in order to take a shower. Yeah!! Washing at the sink is definately getting old! My mother-in-law is picking us up tonight so we can go out to eat. Wow! Going outside of the house twice in one day!! You all have a really good day! Sherri

Darrah... I had nausea with all three of my pregnancies. I think it just goes along with the territory. One of the not-so-wonderful parts of pregnancy. You'll do fine. I think that's great that your doc is ordering an ultrasound to make you feel more relaxed. That sounds like a good and responsive doc. You really need that, anytime you're pregnant. Good choice on docs. Linda

Good Morning! Darrah I am so excited you will get to have an ultrasound!! You sound just like every other first time mother I know. You'll do fine! I just smile because I know how excited you and your husband are! Sherri don't you over do it running around today. I couldn't stand to bathe in the sink that much! I'd be doing some crazy yoga position to try and sit in the bathtub and keep my feet out! Hang in there you are doing great! I'm still pretty torn up today. I called my friend Kelly (who just had the baby) as she is also Joe's groomer and let her know what happened. She and I were both crying on the phone. I finally cried myself to sleep at 8:30 PM. I didn't even hear Eric come home so I know I was exhausted. I'm trying to eat some Cheerios now but nothing tastes real great. Think it's the lingering sorrow mixed with PMS and stress. Oh well...it will get better. Hope everyone has a great day! Sam

Darrah, Try not to worry. The baby will take everything it needs, even if it has to suck it out of your bones and muscles! So you are really trying to support yourself. And the others are right about the nausea. My sister nearly wound up hospitalized for dehydration from her morning sickness and her baby was just fine. I was much luckier with both of mine, but during my second, my whole body ached including my skin and even my eyelashes!! But, they are always worth it. Once you hold that little beauty in your arms, you will forget every pain and queasy stomach you've suffered. Just try to relax. Talk to your doctor or the nurse when you are worried, but then trust their responses. If you can't do that, you are seeing the wrong doctor, so find one you can trust. Enjoy this private time with your baby, because once he/she is born, the grandma's take over!! Cindy

Darrah, instead of crushing the vitiman why dont you get a pill cutter and cut it in half or fourths and take it. I am having to take fiber every day and its huge like a prenatal vit. and i cut it into fourths.. its so much easier and not nearly as nasty as crushing. good luck to you and baby. Carla

Darrah, I hope you start feeling better, so I won't tell you that I vomited every single day and most times 3 or 4 times a day the whole 9 months that I was pregnant with Austin. Every thing will be just fine. I hope everyone has a great day for me it is getting ready to go back to work tonight and tomorrow night and then the weekend off. Kylie

girl....that little thing growing inside of you gets stuff first........I lost like 50 pounds when i was pregnant, i was sick the whole 9 months.......though both of mine were small babies one was 6-10 and the other 6-2........they were healthy......maybe she has some chill pills for ya....LOL....you are going to do just fine, i know smells and just thinking of some foods make you sick and not want to eat... do you go 2 times a month to the dr? i just would think with your surgery and not being that far out, you should be looked at more than once a month....

Little Mommy... chill.. You are doing fantastic...the baby will take what it needs from you... as always... us mommies get the left overs... and this is just the beginning... my baby is 27 and I am still getting the leftovers... I am glad for the ultra sound.. once you see it is as snug in a bug in a rug.. you will relax some... Take care... stress doesnt help.. Linda
