Not so funny Story Warning maybe TMI

First welcome to the Indiana Board. You will find some great people here who are willing to share their experiences.
As for you question regarding Metamucil, I would run that past your surgeon.
I do not think everyone has this problem after surgery, but many do. I was just surprised that mine started 9 months after surgery. I think a lot has to do with testing new foods. It is a hard way to learn. As to whether or not I will be able to sweets or deep fried food is something I will not probably test... at least not out in a public place. Everyone is a little different. Also, most have learned the hard way as what they can tolerate.
Just for your information we will be having a clothing exchange in Kokomo on Oct 7th. I will be posting more on this during the month of September.
Dan
Thanks for the warm welcome Dan!
The clothing exchange is one of the best ideas I've ever heard of! I have clothes that I'm sure someone could use!
I haven't had my surgery yet, nor even approved............a niche on the phys eval, which I've posted. Hoepfully I will get approved and if I have the surgery won't need to take Metamucil? I offered it out there as an option for those who suffer from constipation.......hopefully that may help someone?
Do you thnk your system ever become tolerant?

Hey Dan, Why is this happening so much? Are u not eating like you are supposed to or is there something u going on u need to talk to the dr about. I understand Saras one time inciddent but why would this be happening to u on a daily basis???
I havent had this happen yet but I sure hope this doesnt happen everyday....Dont know if it would be worth that...

Dan,
I'm sorry you've had to go through all of this, but I'm sure the "life" lesson has not been lost on any of us reading your posts. I am just now about 4 1/2 months out and I've noticed that I don't handle fats as well as I did just a few weeks ago. Although I rarely eat anything fried, it didn't bother me at all to eat buttered popcorn at the movies at only 2 months out (I know it was a serious extravagance, I started out with just a few pieces and when it didn't bother me, I kept right on eating.). But I took the kids to the movies yesterday and could barely eat any popcorn. It is sure funny how our bodies keep changing even though our heads tell us that we've settled down somewhat.
Thanks for sharing your experiences so that we might avoid them.
Cindy
Dear Dear Dan, I laughed so hard that I cried reading your posts! I really needed the laugh! I have only dumped a couple of times but I truly know the urgency you are talking about! I am usually the other way but I think I will heed your advise and keep those extra jeans and wipes in the car! Have a truly wonderful day! Oh...by the way ..are you now wearing a cape too? I figured with the Phantom title an all...lol I love it!
Hugs!
Marianne
WOW
I am *SO* glad that I dont dump now. But now Dan has me scared to go to a Long Johns, and I eat a piece of fish a week from there now that I'm preggo. No worries, I'm still losing, down to 265 and not even trying. Obviously can't walk with my foot like this, and I feel like I'm stuffing my face from morning til night to make sure the baby gets all the fruits and veggies and protein it needs.
Still, I might start asking my hubby to get the LJS to go, and I also am packing some clean clothes.
