I'M HOME & DOING ok....
Doing well. It started off very rough. Here is an outline:
1. Surgery @ 10:30am pushed to 1pm.
2. No room for me to go to. I was in recovery from 4pm-9:15pm.
3. Still on my back since 9:30am that morning. Very rough night lots of back pain.
4. Finally stood up at 11am the next morning...very weak, dizzy...Went back to bed with an additional pain shot. Slept like a rock for 2 hours. Woke up & I was a new person.
5. Started to get around & doing very well.
6. Took me off pain pump & onto oral. Now I'm home & resting.
Will keep you up to date. Thanks for all your prayers

Glad to hear that you are home and doing ok. Now it is all up to you to follow the docs orders and the weight will start dropping off. For the first time in my life, I am happy to be a looser. Minus 154 lbs in 9 months.
Drink lots of water and walk walk walk.
Prayers are with you as you continue on your journey.

Kristi,
It's good to see that you are home and doing better.
What hospital were you at? I hope you fill out a patient review of it on here. There's just no excuse to not have a room ready for a bariatric patient..afterall, these surgeries are scheduled well in advance. And to keep you in bed all that time?? Most post-ops take their first walk within a few hours of being in their room (which is normally after ~1 hour in the recovery). Your shared experience would be very beneficial for others to hear. I was at Wishard Hospital's OR waiting room a few years ago (my husband had eye surgery) and there was a girl who had WLS that had a very similar experience as you did...only in her case, the recovery room was full so they had her (in her bed, IV's & all) out in the hallway between recovery & the waiting room! They wouldn't let her family go out there & see her or keep her company or anything. But then, they wouldn't let me go back there to my husband either. Instead, they called me on the waiting room phone and told me to bring the car around to bring him home like I was some chauffer or something. Between that and what happened to that girl, it's not the hospital I will not go to if I can possible help it in any way.
I do sincerely hope that the rest of your journey is a wonderful experience and full of WOW moments.
