I DID IT!!

This may not seem like much to most of you all, but it was a real WOW moment for me. I had the day off yesterday and finally got up the courage to get on my horse! I haven't been on him in 3 years. I was just to fat to get on him. When I'd try to get on my foot would hit his rump and he'd take off and I'd be on the ground. I probably could have gotten on before this but it has been a real phobia. You try hitting the ground from over 4 feet up at over 300 pounds. OUCH! He behaved well and we just walked around for about 10 min. then I saw one of those dang horseflies in the barn and desided it was time to get off before the horse got bitten and I could just see him start to buck and I'd go flying. I have a long ways to go, bit it's a start. It was also amazing to see my self on him in the barn mirrors. ( We have mirrors in our indoor arena so you can check your postions and see how the horse is going) I didn't recognize myself. Before when I was on it was just this blob on a nice looking horse. I've got to take the camera out the next time and get some pictures for my scrapbook. OK time to get in the shower for work. See ya later.

not as much as your WOW yesterday. I'm just getting caught up with yesterdays post since I didn't have time for computer yesterday. Congratulations on one of the biggest WOW's in life. Isn't it wonderful how this surgery has given us our lives back and also has help to actually give life. Time to do your happy dance!

Oh, that rocks! I would love to be able to ride a horse. I am too big, right now. I am so happy for you, though. Linda

Jan, that is really a great WOW for you. About as daring as I get when it comes to riding a horse is on the Merry Go Round at the amusement park. I did ride a Jack Ass up into the mountains of Spain just to get to a great eating place. On the way back down the mountain the Jack Ass threw me off - guess I had to much wine with dinner and he was not happy with me. I did get back on and made it safely to the bottom. Enjoy the riding that is great that you are able to do it. Dan
