It's Monday
Good morning everyone!
My rear will be dragging today! I had such a hard time sleeping last night...or rather, staying asleep. My feet were hurting. My head was hurting. My stomach was churning. Finally, at 2, I got up and took some Loratab since the tylenol wasn't cutting it. The headache is gone this morning, but I was still awake before the alarm went off, massaging my feet. Oh well, it'll be a short day at work anyway. My son has court from that resisting arrest (for no other charges) today. Since my daughter has to work and his gf's car isn't working, I'm taking off of work at noon to take him. I can't quite see him taking a bus there with him still in a cast.
I didn't get nearly as much done over the weekend as I had planned. Where does the time go?? Oh well, I do have 6 pages of my report completed. That's not too bad of a start. I was fighting that headache all weekend though so that's probably alot of why I just didn't feel like doing alot. So..guess I better get busy working on it now! LOL!
You all have a really good day!
Sherri
I agree, weekends are too short! I didn't get anything done I planned on doing either except for cleaning my fridge out (and boy oh boy did it need it!). Sure hope you get to feeling better soon Sherri. I know I have to be in a pretty good amount of pain before ill take the lortab.
Well tonight is the first night of pilates class. Sure hope it goes okay. I'm not 100% sure I'm going to go. Something I might need some support with. My SIL can't afford to do it with me, and that's who I normally workout at the Y with.
Can't WAIT for this week to be over already! As of Friday morning I am on vacation! One of those fabulous vacations where you go nowhere. We have some friends coming in town from out of state for the GenCon Convention here in Indy. We are all dorks . My hubby, and the two of them will be working the convention, I'll be babysitting their 2 year old. Fun times!
And ladies, did any of you notice an change in your menstral symptoms post op? I've had cramps, water weight gain in my legs and have been irritable (all of which were normal symptoms for me before surgery) for about 5 days now, but my girls are very tender, and I haven't actually STARTED my period yet. I don't want to touch them to even put a bra on. We won't talk about how nice they feel when I'm working out. Plus I normally have diahrrea during that time, and now i'm so friggin constipated, I'm almost certain I have no more room in my body for food! I've never had "regular" periods unless I was on birth control pills, or shortly there after, but I sure hope this boob sensisitivity isn't a monthly reocurring thing!
Sorry if that was TMI. Well, Time for breakfast (cottage cheese and pineapple), shower and head to the grind. Have a good one all!
Darrah,
Good luck on the Pilates class. You'll have to let us know how it goes. And no, you aren't a dork! LOL! Let's face it, we are all a little bit of nerds on here...seeing how it use to be that only nerds would be on a computer! LOL!
My sister had a heart to heart with her GYN not too long post-op because the RNY totally screwed up her periods. Come to find out, she wasn't absorbing her birth control pills! So...have a talk with your GYN about the changes in your body. You may need a little bit of adjusting. Cindy went on the shot & had no problems after that. I had a hysterectomy about a year prior to my RNY so no periods but I do have my ovaries. It seems like I can tell (with weight gain & moodiness) when my period would have been.
It does take abit for me to break out the Loratab because it usually gives me insomia. Strange how it does that to me when most people it knocks them out! I had been trying tylenol since Saturday morning for my headaches though and with no luck. Between it and my feet, I knew I needed some relief so I could get some rest for work today. Oh well..should sleep good tonight!
Sherri
Good Morning,
Sherri and Darrah, hope you both are feeling better soon! This RNY is amazing , but unfortunately it does play havoc sometimes with other issues. I too have had some irregularities but I have been taken OFF my B/C pills, I wasn't taking them for prevention but for regularity and hormonal reasons and boy do I feel the pain, cramps and tenderness, and I am sure both hubby and son would agree with the irritabilty, oh well. Hopefully it will all straighten out soon.
I did go to the waterpark on Saturday. We were suppose to go Friday but there was a70 percent chance for rain, so the boys all did something fun here. My dad was brought to the VA Hospital for emergency surgery, so I decided to be there with him and my sister, so spent from 11 a.m. to a litllte after midnight at the hospital. He is ok and home now so hopefully he will be up and at soon and ready for some fun!!
My son started school today. He has had such a rough last year and a half with bullying and not fitting in, now that he is out of IPS and at a charter school hopefully he will have a much better year. &th grade is hard enough with the changes and all but hopefully he will be happier, wish us luck!!
Hope everyone has agreat day and gets to do something they enjoy today!

Wow!!! I cant imagine going back to school in July....That seems so insane to me. I always went back to school in Sept....I know that was in the stone ages after all Im 40 now and my neice thinks I could be a grandma.... I thought when I moved here and they went back on Aug 12 last yr that was crazy. Dont kids get a summer break anymore or does your son get out for the summer in April? Guess I dont know much about IN schools since I grew up in another state.
I know my sisters friend is sending her 5 yr old daughter to all day kindergarden and I had never heard of that before. It used to be so much fun to be a kid...Seems like they dont get much time to do that anymore. Guess times they are a changing...I am old

I had a nice, short and very hot weekend. I wish I were in Indy to join you for those pilates classes. Can't find anyone around here that offers them. I did one at the Y 2 years ago and liked it. (what I could do of it) I've thought of buying one of the pilates for beginners kits with a DVD but I'm afraid I won't do it without the group motivation.
As far as the other problem, are you sure you're not pregnant? That sensitivity was one of my first signs. With the way your luck has been running lately???? Not that being pregnant would be a bad thing normaly, but not good this soon after surgery.
mmm cottage cheese and pineapple.. sounds good. Think I'll get my yogurt and grapenuts. have a good day.
Hey everyone-
My weekend was up &down. I spent most of Sun. trying to get over a headache ,too. I am beginning to think the humidty does it to me. Is it HOT enough for you? It is for me!!!!! I am ready for that cool front to get here. I just hope it cools down by Wed. That is when we leave for Ioxa/Wisc. for our family get-together.
Guess what- I found a dress for the wedding in my own closet!! I was rummaging thru the closet where I keep my "skinny-someday clothes" & found a size 14 dress that fits perfectly. I saved enough $$ that I can afford to go find a cute pair of shoes to go with it, & maybe a little handbag. Oh, did I tell you the wedding is going to be on a big boat?? We are going to float down the Miss. river, while they get married. Then a sit-down meal at a hall later. Fun,Fun!!! I may even get up & !
Well, got to get off here & go to Lafayette for a Drs. appt. Have a great day everyone!

Happy Monday to all
Hope everyone is having a wonderful day. I am at work and our computer systems have been down all morning, so I am not getting much done, this is a bad time for us to have our system down, I work in accounting office and it is month end. At least it is giving me a chance to log on and read some posting. I do not get to do this very much any more, since I am taking 2 classes right now and will start a certificate program in Criminal Justice on 8/10/6.
I am hoping that by the time I go to see Dr Huse on 8/16/6 for my 6 month check up. I will be joining the century club. I have lost 93 pounds according to my inlaws scales. I still do not own a scale, because I would get on them everyday and if it did show me what I want to see them i would probably throw it through a window or something. LOL
God bless
Peggy
Hi there you guys! Wow it's been a while since I've been on here....we were remodeling and didn't have computer access for a few weeks then my son and I took a train trip to NYC. But I'm back!!!! wooohooo!!!! As of this morning I'm down 67 pounds since surgery (3/22/06) and it feels sooo good. Need to get back into the hang of exercising regularly. Throughout the summer I had been walking on vacation and then remodeling as my exercise, but now that I'm back to work I'll need to schedule it in. I sure wish there was a pilates class around here. I'd love to try it, but I'm like you Darrah, I'd like to try it with someone.
I have an interview tomorrow with a school in Rensselaer Indiana. Hubby and I want to move closer to my family (15 min from Rens) but were thinking in the next 2-3 years. Well this opening came up and I applied. I'm so nervous and scared. I think more scared that I will get it and then we'll be moving. We just moved to this house a year ago. If we move this time we'll be staying with my grandmother for a while until the house sells and we find something that we like. It's just so overwhelming. There would definitely be many positives with a new job and especially this one, but it's just scary to think of all the changes that we'd then have to make pretty quickly since school starts here soon (OH yeah, I'm a school counselor by the way).
Anywho, just wanted to share. Hope you all are feeling better. To chime in with the periods thing, mine have been screwy since surgery as well...........I don't think that I'm absorbing my BC pills and honestly I've quit taking them. The few times that hubby and I can get in some hanky panky we use other precautions.
Well, have a great week you all. I'll be sure to post after my interview and let you all know how it went!
