Weekend is here! Happy Saturday!
Good morning one & all!
Got busy plans for the weekend? Mine is SO exciting! I'm defrosting our freezer so I can fill it up to last at least 6 weeks (which means a big grocery shop too..the one shopping I DON'T enjoy!) and I'm working on a report for work. Now, doesn't that just sound like WAY too much fun?? I do hope you all have more entertaining things planned than that! LOL!
Oh! Great news! I am FINALLY half the woman I use to be!! Today, I weigh 172 lbs...and have lost 172 lbs from my day-of-the surgery weight of 344 lbs! Woo-hoo! Now to get rid of those last 12 lbs so I can get my plastics! I just wish the honeymoon stage had lasted a little longer for me. You newbies enjoy it while you have it! I would GUESS it lasts 12-18 months for most post-ops and then the weight loss slows WAY down. So exercise, drink LOTS of water, and get the most out of it while you can. I know for me, I didn't exercise nearly enough. Oh well, as long as that scale keeps going in the down direction, I'm happy!
You all have a terrific day!

Happy Weekend!
Well, got my car fixed, but haven't picked it up yet, at least it was less than we originally thought, and I won't have to sell my soul (or any other part of my body) to get it fixed!
Congrats on the loss Sherri! You are truely inspiring! I know you'll have that 12 pounds gone in no time! Our honeymoon stagin is seriously supposed to last 12-18 months???? Already at only nearly FIVE months I can tell that if I stop excersising, my scale stops moving down too. Which is kind of frustrating to still be so heavy and that be the case, but at least I was able to get this far, and now that I've gotten the first 100 pounds off, I'm sure hard work, determination, and you guys can help me lose the next 100.
I tried to find flat outs at Meijer yesterday and couldn't. So today I''ll visit the Y in greenwood and hit walmart up. That one has a pool anyways, and I LOVE to swim!
Does anyone have an idea on how I could fix a small hole in a bathing suit? I's relly a small one, almost looks like it got knicked with a pair of fingernail clippers or a box cutter when they opened their shipment. its on the tummy tho, so I want to fix it. Its a busy bathing suit, so it could hide the small amont of work needed. It's an 18 and fits SO nice! Still not quite into an 18 pants yet, but love the spandex in those bathing suits!
Darrah,
From all I've heard & read, the honeymoon stage is usually ~12-18 months, of course, each of us are different and our journeys will also be unique. I know people who dropped down to goal...and some within 9 months!...with no exercise at all...but then there's others like you & I that if we don't shake out booty, we don't shake off the weight. But at least we DO shake off the weight since WLS! I'd like to think that we who have to work for it more, appreciate it more and will be more diligent to keep it off. It makes me feel better to believe that anyway...lol. In actuality, those who lose the weight without exercise probably are not nearly as physically fit as we who have to work harder for it since we've also gained muscle tone along the way. And remember, muscles are more dense than fat so as you gain muscle, you lose weight slower, but also decrease your clothing sizes!! In 2006, I've only lost 15 lbs so far..but I have went from a size 14 to a 10! So...although it may take me longer to finally get my ps done, the surgeon should find some lean muscles under all that skin!
I usually find my flatouts at Walmart.
As to the swimsuit, I'd do like Marianne suggested and sew very small stitching to stop it from getting bigger. BUT...then I would take some clear nail polish and put a thin layer on each side, covering the stitching. Allow it to dry, then repeat for 1-2 more coats. This will help anything with nylon in it..and most swimsuits do have a little bit of nylon-type texture to them...from spreading with the rip (just as we 'older' women on here use to do with our pantyhose). I would then fini**** off with a satin stitch covering it all (the original small stitching & the nail polish). With it being a busy pattern, I'd make it look like it was part of the pattern..I don't know...a bright yellow heart maybe. Sometimes, the more you try to make things 'unnoticeable', the more you, if no one else, notices it. So with me, I'd make it apparent, but in a good way.
Happy swimming!
