Golly Gee Whiz. It is 9:30 and no one has been on here yet. Hope you all have a good weekend. I'll be another year older on sunday so we are going out to dinner with friends tonight to celebrate. (?celebrate getting older??) The rest of the weekend I'm just going to do what I want to do for a change.

Jan, Happy birthday! And yep! Celebrate getting older!!!! It sure beats the heck out of the alternative!! And let's face it, us post-ops, definately are NOT getting older, we are getting better! Better health-wise than most of us has been our entire lives! So... it up & have a terrific time! It is surprising that no one is one this late in the day, isn't it? I had PT at 9 and just got back from it. Somehow '1 hour' just doesn't mean much to them...lol. Before that, I was busy doing work stuff (imagine that with me being here at work...lol). I thought I'd pop on here real quick before lunch. Oh well...guess that means everyone else must be having a really hectic Friday too, huh? Today was my last PT session prior to surgery since my podiatrist had written the script for "3 weeks, 3 times per week" instead of leaving it open-ended. I have been telling them repeatedly that the (and this is EXACT quotes from each time I have been in there with the exception of the 1st time...so for 8 times): "The right foot is the worse one but since it will be in the cast and the left foot having to bear the weight, the left foot is the one we are concerned with the most.". Well..today, once again, they concentrate on the right foot. So I repeat my quote and ask if they can do this electrolysis type treatment on the left foot as well. She acted surprised as if it were the first time she ever heard me say my 'quote'..and it was the 6th time I said it directly to her. She checks the script and says 'oh, it doesn't say 'right-foot' on here, it has 'feet''. Well DUH! So FINALLY on the LAST day of PT, someone decides to listen to me and concentrate some on the left foot!!!! Oh! And they decide to add 2 new exercises (on the last day)..one of which requires special equipment and so could only be done there...and neither which is very well suited for bunions! They'd probably be fine if the ligament problem were my only feet issue, but with the bunions?? OUCH! And they had their little helper show me them...and you know how there are some people that just grate on your nerves??? She's one of them. Actually she reminds me of my son's gf of the past 5 yrs and I feel the same way about her. This girl though, she tried to say in a very know-it-all way my 3rd visit there that it is recommended with the new food guidelines that people only get 3 ounces of meat per DAY. She was very determined that she was 100% correct on this. I asked her if she meant 3-4 oz per meal, 3 meals a day...and she said 'no, I know what I am talking about' and then asked me where I got my information at. I looked her square in the eye and said 'my dietician. Where do you get yours?' HAHAHA!! Bet she doesn't like me none either come to think about it!!! LOL!! But then, neither does my son's gf! Ah well...that's my life today. Hehehe!! Hope you all have a terrific day today. It's suppose to be very, very hot over the weekend. I got me a nice sleezy halter top while I was in Vegas that I haven't wore yet. I'm thinking that tomorrow just might be the day! Sherri

Hi Jan & everyone, Well, I am a slow starter this am./pm. My girlfriend came by for (decaf) coffee this morn. & time just got away from us. We are thinking of going to Canada with a collage group( as sponsors-not groupies) in Oct. if the time & $$$ works out.Oh, I won a paperback book; candle;bookbag; & calalnder for top reader in the Summer Reading Program, so I have goodies to take with me on our trip to Wisc. next week! (We are going for a family reunion/wedding) & will be gone 7-8 days-again! Oh the joy of being "retired". Just waiting till we both have to go back to work to AFFORD GAS! Jan, Happy Birthday!!!! have a great day-doing what ever you desire! That is the fun of getting " more mature" as my siblings call it. Sherri, Gosh girl- some people need to clean out their ears & hear you! I CAN believe that they have no idea about protien needs. Alot of people are misinformed it seems. I know that I"ve been told "you are starving yourself" and "should you be eating ALL that? " You do what is best for you. We know our bodies so much better than some "experts" who have no concept of Bari. surgery. I can see you hanging your foot over the side of the hot tub this summer while you recover. ON A SERIOUS NOTE- PLEASE be in prayer for my daughter. She has been diagnosed as ANOREXIC & has decided to get a divorce (4 sons & 15 yrs. marriage) & "find herself" our hearts are torn- we love our son-in-law, & have seen our daughter making herself & everyone around her miserable. She is 35 & said " I never had any fun time, so I am now". Oh do we need prayer. We are trying to support them all, without interfering. Have a great day everyone, I'm off to go shopping! (((Hugs))) Ellen

Wow Ellen, that's rough. You guys will sure be in my prayers. I was on early this moring, but thought for sure Sherri would be posting at the same time, so seeing as I was deleriously tired, I hauled my butt out of the chairand started getting some errands done. I still haven't got my workout done, and its pretty late in the day for me to have not done that. Aunt Flow is comiing to town prolly tonight, so on top of everythying else, I'm just so TIRED. Hehehe Sherri, I can just SEE you telling that girl where you get your information indeed! I can't stand know it alls.
