Mmmmmm
Since surgery I have found that there are few things that still taste just knock down drag em out good. Most things fall into the "hmmm i guess its edible" and the "no way jose!" categories. Today I discovered probably one of the first 5 things I've eaten since surgery that fall into the "oh my gosh yum!" category. Today I found some sundried tomatoe & basil tortillas at Kroger. Read the label and they are made from all wheat flour! Hooray! I put a bit of fat free cream cheese, some turkey breast, green bell peppers slices, a couple slivers of red onion, and an oh-so-tiny sprikle of blue cheese crumbles. Slice in half, feed half to hubby, and eat half of the other half. I don't know what is so gosh darn good on this thing, but mmmmmmmmmmm! And it's all been ok'd by the nutritionalists! Of course, once I find something that tastes yummy, the next time I have it, it never tastes nearly as good. The only exception there are the two flavor SF popcicles from Kroger- those are good 24/7!
Sounds good! I will have to try this, I like tortillas, but the plain ones are just "nasty" after surgery. Unless their toasted, then maybe JUST ok! I too like those flavored popsicles, but I like the Diet Dr. Pepper ones the very best. Anyway glad that you found something that you like and enjoy. It seems so much harder to enjoy food now. I guess that is a good thing though. Keep up your great journey, you are on your way and look amazing. Keep it up!!

Darrah,
I love the FlatOut Flat breads....kinda like tortilla's. I get mine at Walmart neightborhood stores but I think you can get them at Walmart & March..but haven't been able to find them at Kroger. They're in the deli section. You can get them in a variety of flavors too. I spread Krogers fat-free french onion sour cream on it, add meat & veggies & am in taste-bud heaven! The added bonus with the flat bread as opposed to tortilla's is that they have (this is going from memory since I'm not at home right now so I could be off +/-1) 9 g of protein and I think 9 g of fiber. We ALL need as much as we can get of both..so why not get it in a tasty way! LOL! Oh..I've also used them as the 'crust' for pizza. Yumm!

I get flatouts from Meijers... I also get tthe sundried tomato... I usaually just put cheese on them and melt it in the skillet but the lady I walked with last night told me how she uses pizza sauce and cheese and veggies and enjoys hers... I think Ill try the pizza idea next.. I miss pizza from time to time and it is such a waste to buy one and peal every thing off the top and throw the crust away!
